Friday, July 3 - Good morning, good morning. Great action at the Gold Coast with four hits including the high of $4,684. Counted up 12 in all.
You can get free packets of Emeril's seasoning - click here. Geat dancing video - Double Your Pleasure. I really enjoyed that. Looks like the gals are twins, but I wasn't entirely sure.
Eastside Cannery had two $500 winners on theBonus Double Action jackpot (BDA).
We took a ride to Mt. Charleston yesterday. Was like being back East. Enjoy the holiday weekend. Firecrackers have already started in our neighborhood. Fun, fun, fun. Sue 7:45am
Thursday, July 2 - Good morning, good morning. Not a bad day with 14 hotball hits, high at South Point for $4,118.
No bingo news, still don't know Gaming's decision about that 5/29 cashball controversy at Boulder.
Good luck if you venture out today. Sue 7:10am
Wednesday, July 1 - Good morning, good morning. JULY already - now the real heat begins. Try to stay cool. Action on the light side yesterday with about 8 hits, high at South Point for $2,664. Better today? First of the month should be busy :).
In part, from a regular "Well more than 30 days have gone by, and no word on whether or not Boulder Station has paid those cashball winners from 05/29." Maybe Stations will let us know Gaming's decision?
Have a great day. Sue 8:15am
Tuesday, June 30 - Good morning, good morning. Agents were busy bees yesterday paying out at least 16 hotball jackpots. High at Terrible's for $3,225 with a close second at Gold Coast for $3,204. Spread the wealth :).
The Bingo Chief at the Cannery wrote: "....Cannery had its second BDA jackpot winner Sunday night…this time in 36#’s for $10,000.00. That’s two hits since the jackpot started on Thursday." Earlier message stated a player won $1,000 on the 38th number.
Finally did catch-up on e-mail. Following are some fun and interesting links.
Rag Lady sent in Skype you might want to use if you have a web cam (and free calls). She also sent in Hubble for astronomy enthusiasts and Take Me Fishing for those who enjoy that pastime. I do. For survivalists we have Survival Blog. ,Amazing photography of waves by pro Clark Little. We also have the Human Kite. A very graphic Canadian video of a rollover crash. If you want to see a picture of Ensign and the gal he fooled around with - click here. A compilation of Stealing Animals. I like the one of the dalmatian stealing toast. Whoo, hoo.
For those who hate going to the dentist (and paying the dentist), here's a funny video called " Negotiation With a Dentist." For a bit of nostalgia, go to Bill's Retro World. Thanks Rag Lady for all the aforementioned, interesting links.
Okay tigers, go get 'em. Sue 6:33am
Monday, June 29 - A good Monday morning to you. A player or players at Arizona Charlie's Decatur stole the show yesterday with that $9,169 hotball hit. Like it.
Ace put together the July calendar - thanks a bunch. Looks like July was extra work :).
We have an opinion from a player who likes the new Dual Daub feature at the Cannery and explains his/her reasons well. Thank you for writing in. We are interested in the comment: "Levels are a scam by the casinos to have players spend more money for no better chance of winning." Could you elaborate? Rearding the comment about me posting opinions blindly, I haven't yet seen a reason to censor a player's opinion.
Smile. And win. Sue 7:12am
Sunday, June 28 - Good morning, good morning. Players scored well yesterday with 16 hotball hits. Crazy action at the Gold Coast with 5 hits and 2 biggees at Sam's Town. Way to go.
Had the pleasure of going to a private party last night - the host and hostess (new acquaintances) went over the top and it was a spectacular affair. What a good time.
So a little late this morning :). Good luck. Sue 8:40am
Saturday, June 27 - Good morning, good morning. Decent action yesterday with 14 hotball hits - four at the Cannery but all four kind of puny.
I cannot take all the credit for this relatively new feature of bingoupdate.com. A while back, I asked for some help with this site and Ace volunteered to do the Promo page. He also felt that player's would like to have a vent page and he even came up with the title "Player's Opinion." So, thank you Ace for a new and popular feature.
Have a great day. Sue 7:45am
Friday, June 26 - Good morning, good morning. Players at the Suncoast scored high - two nice hits in a row - $4,512 and $3,612. More than half of yesterday's 10 hits were at the 7pm and 9pm sessions.
This from a bingo honcho: "Now you can hit Dual Daub jackpots in 38 #s or less and win up to $10,000 (Every day at every session)…this is in addition to our regular Double Action (Dual Daub) Coverall. Rules are at the Bingo cage, both at Eastside and Cannery (North)." Next time at the Cannery, find out about the rules.
Regarding comments on 6/21 by WM, just wanted to mention that I heard third hand that another player noticed apparently the same guy doing the same thing at Texas, but hasn't seen him in a while. However, it occurred to me that he may have been an extremely heavy machine player, racked up a lotta points, and is discipling himself to stay away from the machines, using up his points to play bingo? Maybe?
And you know how we love strokes. Heard from a bingo pro: "Your site is even more awesome than ever. There is an actual dialogue continuing amongst players and such. Very nice." Thank a bunch.
It's a Friday - if I can, I'll go a little early in the day. Gets too crowded and loud for me later on. But I know lots of players like that kind of background. Stimulating. Have a good one. Sue 7:40am
Thursday, June 25 - Good morning, good morning. We see about 8 hotball hits for yesterday with the high at the South Point for $4,485.
Have a great day. Sue 7:40am
Wednesday, June 24 - Good morning, good morning. I'm late, I'm late. Counted up 12 hotball hits, 8 under a grand, and one notable at Sam's for $4,072.
Happy trails. Sue 8:40am
Tuesday, June 23 - Good morning, good morning. An especially good morning for a special South Point player. Posted on South Point's website: "Congratulations to another lucky local winner for winning the Dual Action Jackpot in 34 numbers for $57,161 at our 9 a.m. session on June 22, 2009." On top of that, another progressive hit yesterday - that one being at Fiesta Henderson where a lucky player won $13,400. And that's not the end of the story. There were many hotball hits - 18 for the day with the high at the Suncoast for $7,244. Oh, what a day for lucky VBPs.
The following was in our e-mail from former Vegans: "Hi Sue...we're back in NV...came back end of December....and back to stay!! We played at SouthPoint this am...the DA went on the 34th number...he cased on the 32nd # and this is the 2nd double action win at Southpoint for this man...talk about lucky!!! Take care...(we) never played outside of NV when we were gone...but we did read and check the Bingoupdate often!! You guys are the best!" SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU!
We have a player's opinion. We appreciate these write-ins. So do other players I am sure.
Have a great day! Sue 7:22am
Monday, June 22 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball action was in the mid-range with about 11 hits - all progressives still awaiting winners.
No news today. Remember, to put out extra smiles this Monday. Sue 6:35am.
Sunday, June 21 - Good morning, good morning. Only 8 hotball hits, but a doozy at the South Point for $6,949.
We have a player's comment, but is there anyone out there who might corroborate the implication? I have to admit that I find it difficult to believe that Stations would take such a risk with Gaming. In any event, we appreciate your comments. Thank you.
Get lucky. Sue 7:25am
Saturday, June 20 - Good morning, good morning. South Point was the hotspot yesterday with four hotball hits, but the mega progressive still sits there.
Thanks gang. I overslept, will just make 8:30am. Sue 8:29am
Friday, June 19 - Good morning, good morning. Major action at the Suncoast yesterday with three hotball hits: $17,416, $6,708, and $1,398. Players, you did good. Real good.
No opinions today.
For game lovers, Charitii raises money for several good cause for each correct answer. Worth taking a few minutes. For the organized, or the wannabe organized, there's Springpad. Have to sign up though.
Friday, time for fun. Have a terrific weekend. Sue 7:30am
Thursday, June 18 - Good morning, good morning. Back home. Funny, how it is always good to get back to the nest, but then in a few days, ready to go again :).
A You Tube video from Rag Lady - Zeke has March Madness. Dogs can be amazing, no? We also have a link to a map that "shows what year economic forecasters say each metro area will return to employment levels seen before the recession". The forecast doesnt look good for Vegas.
No player's opinion today.
Wishing you a great day and a big win if you play. Sue 7:20am
Wednesday, June 17 - Good morning, good morning. Had the wrong dates down for yesterday and Monday. Oh well, half asleep usually when I do this :).
I'll be on the 2:25pm flight to Vegas. I might need a day or two to get back into the full swing of things. Have another great day. Keep those Gambling Gremlins at bay. Sue 7:10am
Tuesday, June 16 - Good morning, good morning.
We have two player's opinions, one from Double A and one from Cdnv. We really do appreciate these views.
Have a great day. Win if you play. Sue 6:55am
Monday, June 15 - Good morning, good morning. Another dual daub hit yesterday - this time for one of those $10,000 jackpots at Terrible's. Goood going.
We have an interesting link from Rag Lady about "Vegas Undercover" to premier tonight on Dateline. Looks like it is going to be about the "gritty" side of Vegas. As a local living in a decent residential neighborhood, gambling at a nearby local casino, I don't see any of the bad stuff. I suspect that's true for most of us who live in Sin City.
Dee sent in an e-mail about commercial mayo being safe and cut onions perhaps not so safe. You can read about it at Snopes.
And we have another player's opinion today. Thank you for sharing your side of the hot issue.
Well, I am still in Reno but will probably return home later this week. I still have to hit the F5 (refresh) key to get the current date up in the Firefox browser. Hope you are not having trouble. Be good, do good - in or out of a casino. Sue 7:10am
Sunday, June 14 Good morning, good morning. TWO progessives hit yesterday! One winner was playing the bonus coverall at the Gold Coast and won $26,043 and the other winner was playing at Arizona Charlie's Boulder and caught the dual daub progressive set at only 34 numbers for a whopping $42,535.
In our e-mail: "Charlie's Dual Daub got hit at the 7AM session this morning, a guy hit it on the 34th number....no other details, we were not there. '
Players, have a super Sunday. Keep those Gambling Gremlins at bay. Sue 7:30am
Saturday, June 13 - Good morning, good morning. Dee sent in a video about cell phones and popcorn. Are those little devils frying our brains?
TR sent in comments about South Point - see player's opinion page. She also said the bonus coverall costs " 3-on strip for $1; with consolation same as blue card."
A guy named Mike asked for a link to his site Video Poker Baller. Don't have time to look his site over, but looks like I can do that. Even though I've been toying with the idea of taking down all the pages except the first one, progressive wins, comments, monthly promos, and player's opinion page.
Friday, June 12 - Good morning. Short today. Couldn't get the e-mail. Be good. Sue
Thursday, June 11 - Good morning, good morning. I'm downsizing for the next week or so and will only be posting progressives and player's opinions should they come in. The following bingo halls have their hotball jackpots posted on their websites: Stations including Fiestas, Boyd Properties, and South Point. All the bingo rooms listed on the home page are linked to their respective website.
Good luck to you. Sue 7:37am
Wednesday, June 10 - Congratulations to the Poker Palace player who won the dual daub for $22,644! Way to go. Hotball activity very light with one notable hit at the Suncoast for $4,586. At least that was great.
I had fits trying to get the info this morning, but hopefully accurate :). No player's opinion in the mail today. Shucks.
Did note that Sam's has a polo shirt giveaway on Ace's calendar. Good luck. Sue 7:20am
Tuesday, June 9 - Good morning, good morning. When I called the Bingo Bugle's hotline this morning, Eastside Cannery's agent indicated the amounts given were for Monday and said the dual daub was at $21,207.30 in 30 numbers. This means that the $37,914 dual daub at 35 numbers hit Sunday. Good for the winner. So, apparently both the Cannery and Eastside Cannery had huge dual daub winners on the same day.
The high hotball hit yesterday was at the Gold Coast for $4,704. No complaints there. We see 13 hits but a couple of places did not call in today's jackpots, so the action may have been even better.
I'm still in Reno and using my son's computer. He has a different browser than Internet Explorer and I noticed that I've had to hit the refresh button a couple of times. Don't know if that has anything to do with the browser or not, but if you are not getting the current date, try the F5 key.
Special wishes sent to my buddy in PA for a Happy Anniversary! Wishing all you players the best of luck, always. Sue 6:30am
Monday, June 8 - No moody blues for a Cannery player who won the Dual Daub for $32,161. Congratulations! And in the e-mail from DT: "The lucky local winner was at the 10am session Sunday. She won on the 35th number."
Good luck to you today and everyday. Smile. Sue 7:40am
Sunday, June 7 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up 13 hotball hits with the top three in the $3200 range.
No controversy today. Maybe tomorrow? Get lucky and don't forget the walking out winning part. Sue 7:35am
Saturday, June 6 - Good morning, good morning from chilly Reno. I miss the heat :). South Point agents were busy paying out four jackpots, three in a row. See about 11 around the valley. Not bad.
Coming up with something newsy is easy today. We have an explanatory e-mail from the top dog at Stations and we have a concerned player who explained his position quite clearly. See player's opinion page.
Well gang, have a good one. Sue 7:25am
Friday, June 5 - Good morning, good morning. An Eastside Cannery player or players enjoyed hitting a $4,805 jackpot at the 1pm session. We see about 9 hits for the day, at least for those we track. Plaza not on board again.
We have a seriously upset player who wrote in about an $11,000 hotball - see player's opinion. My goodness, that's bad.
On a much lighter note, we have a "cat and mouse" picture that is, well, "plucky" as the British say. Have a great day, stay out of trouble :). Sue 6:10am.
Thursday, June 4 - Good morning, good morning. A definite W.O.W. day for bingo players hitting the hotball jackpots 16 times with lots of high-balls :). Way to go. You did Walk Out Winning, didn't you?
Had a good trip (450 miles), son made a great roast for dinner. All is well, but took some doing to get this "update" going. May not be able to keep it up but will give warning if that becomes the case. You have a super great day. Sue 7:00am
Wednesday, June 3 - Good morning, good morning. Action certainly improved with that 3pm $10,000 jackpot at Terrible's finally biting the dust. Took over a month. And we counted 10 hotball jackpots paid out with the biggee at Sam's Town for $5,105. A much better day in Bingoland for sure.
Hopefully, I have the following special correct, that it is for Father's Day, 6/21, at the Silver Nugget: "if you play the 3pm and spend at least $15 at that session, then you receive a Free Pass for the 5pm. Everyone is equal at the 5pm with 96 faces, no extras are sold. Even Steven. Payouts of $1,000 are on the house. There is no regular 5pm."
We have a link from Rag Lady call Still Tasty? It's about how long to keep food, etc. There's a joke in my house called the "the three day rule," because my husband accuses me of tossing every edible item out after three days (which is not entirely true BTW :)). But I like knowing about this site, so I can show him that some food should be discarded within three days :). Thanks RL.
Sometimes we receive links to sites that we have previously mentioned and sometimes we receive e-mails with videos and/or pictures that we can't find a corresponding internet site. We can only use links, not downloads. Nonetheless, wanted you to know, I still very much appreciate your e-mails.
I am going to Reno to visit my son. I do not know if I can keep the site going while I am there. So, if not updated tomorrow, I was unable to do. Not sure how long I will stay, could be a week or several weeks. In the meantime, have tons of good luck!
Sue 5:50am
Tuesday, June 2 - Good morning, good morning. Stinky day yesterday, at least as far as hotball hits. Three? Didn't hear from the Plaza, but even so, the count would still be, well, stinky.
We have a player's opinion regarding that hotball problem at Boulder. Seems that Sunset had a similar problem.
Having an e-mail problem, hope to have resolved later today. Hope you have a great day. Sue 7:50am
Monday, June 1 - Good morning, good morning. We see about 11 hits for yesterday with the high by far at the Plaza for $6,306. Second high was for $1,799 at the South Point.
Ace put together the June calendar. Thank you! We all appreciate your effort.
We received the following: "As to the Hotball problem at Boulder Station....learned last night (05/30) it is in the hands of Gaming Control....they have 30 days to make a decision but the winners were NOT paid...."
If a move is in your plans or in the plans of someone you know, we recommend checking out a government site called Protect Your Move sent in by RL.
Smile, smile, smile and the whole world smiles with you! Have a happy day. Sue 6:15am
Sunday, May 31 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo players were hot yesterday hitting the hotball jackpot at least 18 times. High was at the Plaza for $3,598. Good going guys.
Interesting player's opinion from Double A about "the last number called" - specifically what happened at Boulder Station Friday night.
Louise sent in ready.gov, a website about emergency preparedness. Rag Lady sent in the link about unique bridges. Thanks girls.
Bingo Bugle has the Nevada June edition on-line. We have our fingers crossed that Ace will work up a June calendar :).
Yesterday afternoon turned into a bit of a party with several "drop-ins" in hear the guys thumb-pick and Loretta sing. Friends, music, some good food, a few drinks. Terrific time by all I do believe.
Hope you have a terrific Sunday. Sue 7:12am
Saturday, May 30 - Jumbo is gone, Jumbo is gone! What a red letter day for the VBP who won $126,987 yesterday. My, my, my.
As regulars know, the Jumbo is a linked game and now with Aliante having a bingo room, I guess the game is linked with 7 Station bingo rooms?
Today is Guitar Guys Day and should be extra special since Loretta St. John is coming over as well. Boy can she sing. What a treat for us all. Made brownies from scratch but had to throw away since a little too dark on the bottom :). At least I can't mess up the fully cooked ham. Or the watermelon.
Sue 6:25am
Friday, May 29 - Whoo-hoo. Another $10,000 progressive hit at Terrible's and 15 hotball jackpots. And we heard that there was a $7,500 dual duab winner in 33#'s at the Silver Nugget. I'd say a great day.
After I typed the above about the Silver Nugget, checked my e-mail and found the following: "Well she did it at Silver Nugget on the 32nd number (O-63) for $7,500. Her and Cee Cee played the 7PM session....Cee Cee hit the Hotball
for $2,000 on N-39....so they decided to stay for the 9PM session and thats when "J" hit their Dual Daub....put those two Bingo Nutz together and watch out.... Cee Cee sends her regards to you and Rose too !" Thank you and congratulations to the two Bingo Nutz :)!
And we heard from someone who is both in the bingo business and a player. After some thought, we decided to put "B's" comments up as a "Player's Opinion" though perhaps the comments are not totally from the player's point of view. Interesting read.
Okay tigers, go get 'em. Sue 6:20am
Thursday, May 28 - Good morning, good morning. Counted 13 hotball hits with the high at the South Point for $3,405 and a close second at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $3,346. Good going. Fiesta Rancho's dual daub went to 35 numbers today according to the hotline, but their website doesn't show that. Seems like the progressives at both Fiesta's is are a day behind.
We have a question from a visitor: "I am from Texas and will be visiting Vegas in July. In Texas children can play bingo when accompanied by an adult. Do you know of any halls in Vegas that allow children? Thanks for your time and consideration."
My answer is you must be 21 or older to gamble in Nevada, including bingo. I know bingo managers look at the site, so if I am wrong, let us know.
I haven't been gambling (video poker) much of late, but I did go out yesterday and ended up losing. The bad part is that I was ahead at one point. Sooo, seems to me 95% of the time, I can't get anything going or when I do, I give it back. This is not a good thing. Back to NOG status. Better luck and better brains to you :). Sue 7:40am
Wednesday, May 27 - Good morning, good morning. One of those $10,000 jackpots at Terrible's was gobbled up by a lucky player. Not the one at the 3pm session which Terrible's has been clinging to for a long time, but at the 1pm session. Good for that player. We also see about 13 hotball hits, eight under a grand. Okay, decent day. The Fiesta Rancho agent indicated that the 11pm hotball is $1,669, but the website has $578. Don't know. No report-in from the Plaza.
Just checked the e-mail, and we have a player's opinion. Thank you for taking the time to air your views. We hope others will do the same.
Good luck to all. Sue 7:25am
Tuesday, May 26 - Good morning, good morning. A little better yesterday with about 12 hits and a great high at the Gold Coast for $6,061.
No bingo news coming in. Guess things are fairly quiet on the front :).
Good luck to you should you play today. Sue 6:45am
Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 - Good morning, good morning. We see around 10 hits yesterday, high at Eastide Cannery for $2,208. We predict better action today.
An interesting site from Dee: Take a Shark break at an on-line aquarium. "The fish follows your mouse, but there's more. This is amazing, if you click on the extreme right hand column you can change the scene of the background. There are some really beautiful ones. By clicking on the extreme left hand column you can change the type of fish,it's relaxing to watch them swim." I could change the type of fish, but not the scene. Maybe at another time.
World Peace. Sue 6:15am
Sunday, May 24 - Good morning, good morning. Almost a month at 52 numbers, but a player finally hit the bonus coverall at Terrible's for $17,191. Good for that winner. Hotball activity in the mid-range with about 9 hits, high at the Eastside Cannery for $3,006.
A site dedicated to colors. Could come in handy.
Don't know if fact or fiction, but from TET: "The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska was $80,000.00. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers. A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both."
Have a good one. Sue 6:55am
Saturday, May 23 - Good morning, good morning. There's one heckuva happy VBP out there somewhere. The player was at Sam's yesterday and hit the Even Bettor for $33,922. First day at 55#'s. Wow. 16 hotball hits and a progressive sure made for a great bingo day in Vegas.
Aliante bingo added to Stations website. Did you notice the $10,000 jackpot at the 9pm? Looks like the Plaza has upped their $10,000 jackpot in 52 numbers to $19,690. Terrible's ready-to-pop jackpots linger on.
For word game lovers. Try Free Rice so that "play time" will also amount to a worthy donation.
Be good, be careful, but somehow, still have tons of fun. :). Sue 6:40am
Friday, May 22 - Good morning, good morning. Terrific Thursday for bingo players who hit the hotball jackpot 15 times. The high was at the South Point for $6,120.
Good possiblities out there with Sam's Town's progressive going to 55 today, three 38# jackpots still remain at Terrible's.
Aliante having bingo today (11am-9pm). I think you get a free t-shirt if you play.
Have a great day and an extra special long weekend. Sue 7:10am
Thursday, May 21 - Good morning. Seriously good action at Sam's Town yesterday.
Sorry, but I slept in. Sue 8:50am
Wednesday, May 20 - Good morning, good morning. Big winner at little Fiesta Henderson - a $12,400 jackpot! Way to go. Hotball count not a good barometer with the specials that were going on, but we see 7 hits with three of those at little Fiesta Rancho. The high was Eastside Cannery for $3,871.
Terrible's has THREE at 38#'s.
From Dee: Animals Getting Drunk. "There are trees that grow in Africa which, once a year, produce very juicy fruits that contain a large percentage of alcohol. Because there is a shortage of water, as soon as the fruits are ripe, animals come there to help protect themselves from the heat." Woozy animals :).
Not much going on for me today. Hope you have a great one. Sue 7:35am
Tuesday, May 19 - Good morning, good morning. Despite four rooms having bingo events, counted up 11 hotball hits with the high at Sam's Town for $4,383. AND, the top news, the Gold Coast had a Bonus Coverall winner for $24,515! Super.
The Jumbo went to 54 numbers today and Terrible's now has two $10,000 jackpots at 38#'s.
And we have the following from a Stations' bingo manager: "Aliante Bingo will be opening Friday, May 22nd at 11am.
We will be a non-smoking room and will have 6 sessions per day - 11am through the 9pm session. Double Action every session except 5pm (regular pay). Aliante is the only one with 6 sessions, not all of them."
From HNV: "You mentioned the cash ball hit at the Suncoast this past Saturday. As reported this was a $6,500 hit. What you may not know is the player also received the $1,000 Jackpot, plus she Bingo-ed on a Special Coverall card in less than 50 numbers (48) for another $25,000. total was $32,500!!! Never have seen a 3 for 3 like that on a single game.,,," We like receiving this kind of info as we have no other way of knowing except when players send it in. The best I can do is compare the jackpots from one day to the next and highlight what appear to be hits. Jackpots that do not progress, I don't know when they hit.
We appreciate the bingo news! Thanks. Have a good one. Sue 7:20am
Monday, May 18 - Good morning, good morning. We know of about 7 hits, but don't know what happened at the 9am to 5pm sessions at Boyd properties due to the Mega Event, nor do we know what happened at the Plaza since they didn't call in. Anyway, there was a great hotball hit at Sam's Town last night - $6,552. Cool.
Aha, I lost my bet yesterday as our visitor was not on target. Not the first time I've lost :). BP writes today: "My mistake Sue. The Suncoast has not cut like the Gold Coast--Yet! Sorry."
Lyn, Bingo Manager at the Suncoast, sent in clarification: "We did not cut the Bonus Coverall at the Suncoast. It is still $25,000 in 50 numbers or less. Your visitor is wrong." In a second e-mail, Lyn further explained about the Bonus Coverall payouts: "Sorry I didn't answer your other question. The Bonus Coverall is played on the 11,12 and 13th game of the session. If the player wins on the Bonus Coverall strip in 50 numbers or less on the coverall they win $25,000. Otherwise it pays as a Blue on those 3 games. So, to answer your question, there isn't a fixed consolation." Thank you. I didn't realize it was essentially played as a blue card.
So there you have it. We love to get the straight on bingo!
We thank everybody for writing. Have a super great day. Sue 6:50am
Sunday, May 17 - And a happy Sunday morning to you. Good action yesterday with about 15 hotball jackpots going to Vegas Bingo Players with the high of $6,478 at the Suncoast. I couldn't quite hear the hotball amount for the 3pm at Terrible's, but I think it is $3,477. BTW, that 3pm $10,000 jackpot has been at 38# since 4/30. Good luck.
A visitor notified us "The Suncoast also cut the progressive to $20,000 a couple of weeks ago. Still showing $25,000 on the update." We used the amount showing on Suncoast's website (Bonus Coverall - $25,000 in 50 numbers or less). Could we have clarification from Suncoast? And the consolation amount? And a correction to Suncoast's website if the visitor is correct? My money is on the visitor :).
How about Rachel beating out the boys! Wow. But have to admit, another 1/16 mile, I do believe Mine That Bird would have overtaken her. First time a filly won the Preakness since 1924. Good show.
Have a great day. My husband is a Lakers' fan and I have been watching some of the games with him. Major games this afternoon, and I'll be right there on the sofa. Hope you get real lucky if you go out to play. Sue 7:05am
Saturday, May 16 - Good morning. I think I'm better today :). I've been having some health issues for the past several weeks which may account for some minor goof ups and lack of proofreading. I wonder how long I can milk that excuse. :).
Yesterday's action was in the 12 hit range with the high at South Point $2,958. Three hits at the South Point.
Dee sent in a way to get free Mars Candy. From the Mars website: "So that's why next Friday, May 22 will be even bigger. We'll be giving away 500,000 free* Mars chocolate products at 9:00AM ET!" Looks like you just have to put in date of birth and e-mail address for the free candy!
Be good. Be lucky. Sue 7:30am
Friday, May 15 - Good morning, good morning. Well hotball activity was on the light side with about 7 hits. High was at Eastside Cannery for $2,807. Little Poker Palace had two hits, one for $2,424. That neat little room always manages to have the hotball jackpots at a minimum of $1,000. Good for them. Yesterday's action may have been a little better since we didn't hear from the Cannery on Craig Rd. Fiesta Henderson's progressive went up to 55#'s today. One never knows. Suncoast had a winner the first day it's odd/even jackpot went to 54 numbers and its sister property, Sam's Town, has a progressive that went to 54 numbers today. One never knows :).
Help. What's the cost of the consolation for the bonus coverall at South Point?
Although this might be a repeat, a worthy repeat it is - Sactmo singing " What a Wonderful World" with a deer and a cat cuddling in nature's bounty. That should melt a cold heart.
An ending quote from an e-mail: "If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly."
Friday Fun. Get you share. Sue 7:35am
Thursday, May 14 - Good morning, good morning. The Talk of the Town - a Suncoast player won $35,672, the first day the odd/even jackpot was at 54 numbers. Fantastic. Good for you. Counted up 13 hotball hits with the high at Sam's Town for $4,549. Certainly was a decent day. Regarding Fiesta Rancho, the dual daub there might have gone to 33 numbers today according to my hearing of the bingo agent on the hotline. Their website is usually a day behind on the progressive. Also, don't know if that $10,000 38# still at Terrible's. They didn't call in to the hotline. Neither did the Plaza.
Have a good one. Sue 6:55am
Wednesday, May 13 - Good morning, good morning. At least 18 times, players hit the hotball number. The high was at Eastside Cannery for $4,488. Four hits at the Suncoast. The action was probably even better since the $250 jackpot at Terrible's indicates a hit (didn't have the day before amount) and Plaza missed the call-in this morning. All and all, I'd say t'was a good day for many bingo players.
Yesterday's plug for Silver Nugget, Shout Out, was for players on their e-mail list. I didn't realize that so if you like the specials they give to their e-mail listed players, have to sign up.
It's gonna be warm today. Thanks for visiting and have a great day. Sue 7:08am
Tuesday, May 12 - Good morning, good morning. Top bingo news - $13,996 hotball jackpot went into the hands of a lucky Sam's Town player (or players). Yes!
Terrible's not on the hotline this morning. Ace did let us know that the bonus coverall at Terrible's costs $1 for a 3-on strip with a $100 consolation.
Ace also sent in the following comments: "Have you heard any rumors, grumblings, ... that Station Casinos will be eliminating the 9AM & 11PM sessions at all its bingo halls....I've heard this a few times at different places lately.... The goal is to cut full time to part time (30 hours) and eliminate donuts? Seems a little extreme to me... Never really paid attention to how many boxes of donuts are available at each bingo hall but was told each box runs about $10.00 ....guess it really could add up quite fast!!!!"
All right, maybe the big honcho will let us know if there is any validation to the rumor.
Brad sent in the following for the Silver Nugget: "May 12 – Two for Tuesday - Get Two Manager’s Specials & Extra Special D for just $34, unit fee included ($18 Savings)."
Have a lucky, lucky Tuesday should you venture out to play. Sue 6:35am
Monday, May 11 - Good morning, good morning. Hope you were one of the winners who shared in 14 hotball jackpots. The high was at the Gold Coast for $6,129, next at the South Point for $3,236, and third at Sam's for $3,082. Mother's Day was a good bingo day.
I forgot to give the link for Dr. Phil's personality test yesterday. The other day I gave the wrong number for Bingo Bugle's hotline. Geez, a thump on the head to me.
Ace, I know Terrible's is one of the places you play. How much for the bonus coverall and what is the consolation? Thanks in advance.
Didn't receive any bingo news, bingo praise, or bingo complaints in the e-mail box today, so we have nothing to share in those departments. We did hear that Aliante is going to have bingo in what was the poker room, 200 seats. Aliante has become my poisoning well, so I'll be playing some bingo soon.
Have a happy, smiley Monday. Sue 7:10am
Sunday, May 10 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball action again a little light with about 8 hits, but two were over $4,000: $4,235 at the South and $4,218 at the Gold Coast. Those kind of hits are always great, aren't they?
Happy Mother's Day! See May Promos for places to play today. Good Luck. Sue 7:00am
Saturday, May 9 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball action a little light with about 8 hits. Doesn't include Terrible's who missed the call-in to Bingo Bugle's hotline (269-3000 whoops 269-3300). The high at the Cannery for $4,748 - that's a goodie.
From the Bingo Lounge (I can't even say this number): The number of possible bingo cards is 552,446,474,061,129,000,000,000. If you could print a million cards per second, it would take 17,505,972,382,599.7 years to print every possible bingo card. Only 4,976,640,000 cards would have the same twenty-four numbers, but in a different arrangement.
Cannery North (on Craig Rd.) and Eastside Cannery (on Boulder Highway) have an 18 Game Super Session at 10pm - triple action with triple chance coverall.
Hoping you have a happy and fruitful Saturday :). Sue 7:15am
Friday, May 8 - Good morning, good morning. Vegas Bingo Players won at least 15 hotball jackpots yesterday with the high at the Suncoast for $7,793. Way to go!
No news today. Hope you have a wonderful fun-filled Friday. Good luck if you play. Sue 6:20am
Thursday, May 7 - Good morning, good morning. Solid action at Arizona Charlie's Boulder - 5 hotball hits including the high for $4,898. Total count for the day - 14 hits.
We had the wrong manager for Boulder Station on the bingo rooms page. We thank the visitor for the correction. That's one of the pages I haven't worked on in ages. Do you think I should just delete it?
In the Review Journal: "Postal carriers ask residents for food items." The articles states that residents are asked to donate non-perishable food items to local post offices or leave them beside their mailboxes Saturday morning as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual food drive.
The RJ also had a coupon for "buy 1 adult ticket, get 1 free" for the San Gennaro Feast. The coupon was for today but maybe there will be others?
The RJ also had an article on - stay and play here - and listed a few of the available discounts for Nevadans. I didn't browse the site but it is supposed to be a money saver "just for locals."
A beautiful day coming our way. Enjoy. Sue 6:50am
Wednesday, May 6 - Good morning, good morning. From South Point's website: "CONGRATULATIONS TO A VERY LUCKY LOCAL FOR WINNING OUR DUAL ACTION ON THE 34TH NUMBER FOR $54,785 AT OUR 1:00 SESSION ON CINCO DE MAYO!!" Oh, wouldn't that amount of money cure some ails? Wow.
Hotball action wasn't bad with 12 hits - 7 of those at the two Arizona Charlie's. Hopping there. The high was at Terrible's for $2,569.
South Point has cash drawings at the 1pm and 7pm sessions. Coast Casinos have a $500 Bonus Buzz Ball. From Brad at the Silver Nugget: May 6 or 7 - Get Two Managers Specials for just $32 when you also validate for any amount.
From Doris: 50 Restaurant Recipes. Thanks buddy. Doris also won second place in a contest for the following recipe:
8 oz. can tomato sauce, 2 cans baked beans (I use Bush's)
1/2 pound browned hamburger, 1/2 pound ham cubes, 1/2 bag smokies (small sausages), bacon bits
1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup diced onion, crushed hot pepper (optional)
Directions: Put all ingredients in a crock pot and cook all day.
My son has some Trekkie blood in him, from where I do not know. He is so looking forward to seeing the Star Trek movie and told me it has had a 100% positive review which is pretty astounding. Should be enjoyable even for us non-trekkies :).
Have a happy hump day. Win if you play. Haven't had any opinions or weird happenings in a while. Would love to hear some. Trust me, bingo managers look at them. Sue 6:50am
Tuesday, May 5 - Good morning, good morning. Vegas Bingo Players scooped up a few goodies yesterday - $6,091 at the South Point and two at Sam's Town for $5,703 and $3,869. Those wins included in about 10 hits made for a decent day.
I bet South Point's bingo room is going to be extra busy today. Five $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm and 7pm sessions on top of the $54,000+ Dual Daub at 36 numbers for about a week now.
Love, laugh, live. Sue 6:30am
Monday, May 4 - And a happy Monday morning to you. Definite improvement in hotball action with 12 hits - high at South Point for $4,430 and second high at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $3,596. That huge progressive still at the South Point.
Here's a 5 star over two and half million views YouTube video - Thousand-Hand Guan Yin. Wonderous accomplishment. "All 21 of the dancers are complete deaf-mutes. Relying only on signals from trainers at the four corners of the stage, these extraordinary dancers deliver a visual spectacle that is at once intricate and stirring."
Mondays require extra smiling effort. Sue 6:15am
Sunday, May 3 - Good morning, good morning. Stinky action yesterday. Four hotball hits? Geez.
I had control of the remote yesterday afternoon and decided to switch to the Kentucky Derby and am I glad I did. Exciting, exciting, exciting. I was so thrilled for that jockey and owner.
Dee sent in Simfonia Prima Veril - a slide show of beautiful, relaxing pictures of nature. Thank you. It is calming.
Rag Lady sent in this 40 sec. Magic Trick - called bedgeheimen - how DOES he do it?
There is some thought that taking Vitamin D could be beneficial against the flu. I think that would need more research though.
Okie Dokie, have a great day. Win if you play. I did a little yesterday and the action was, well, stinky. Sue 7:05am
Saturday, May 2 - Good morning, good morning. Action was okay yesterday with about 10 hotball hits and the high at the Suncoast for $2,982. Plaza asleep at the wheel for a couple of days now.
We made a change on the first page and put bonus coveralls separate. Two are progressive - Terrible's and Gold Coast. If you know cost and consolation, please let me know. If you hate what I did, let me know :).
Boyd Properties: "Tickets are now on sale for our $500,000 Mega Bingo event being held on May 18th and 19th, 2009." Those are Gold Coast, Suncoast, and Sam's Town.
E-mail: "I was just checking out your May Promo page, and noticed you had Mother's Day Daubers listed for Stations and Fiestas. Red Rock will not be giving away daubers, but will be drawing for a classic facial or swedish massage at the Red Rock Spa every session. One entry for every $10 spent." Thank you for that info, added to calendar. I would love either the facial or the massage.
From Brad at the Silver Nugget: " First Saturday May 2 & every month - $1,000 Coveralls All Sessions Any Color Card."
We love your e-mails and should be on top of acknowledgments very soon. In closing, Aunt Lee always told her two boys, "no play until Saturday chores are done." :). Sue 6:53am
Friday, May 1 - Good morning, good morning. Bad news. Jackpot info will be late this morning, sometime after an early morning doctor's appointment.
Good News! Ace put together the May calendar! Thank you, thank you. I am sure players appreciate the work you did putting that together. Not to mention the handy dandy information. Anybody else out there want to work on a page? :) :)
Dee sent smashing pictures of lightning and the closest I could find was this YouTube video - " Lightning and many other nature wonders." Fascinating but not quite as photographic as the ones Dee sent in. Sorry I couldn't find the link for those. Closely related is "Thunder and Rain" which was actually enjoyable for a desert rat such as I.
We have an aahhh video, also from Dee, about living a beautiful life. Enoy the ride. Well done. Sue 6:15am
P. S. Couldn't get this done until almost 11:30am. I tried. Anyway - did you see that action at Sam's Town yesterday - one of those AMAZING sequences. Five in a row including one for over $15,000 and one over $8,000! Wow. Sue 11:20am
Thursday, April 30 - Good morning, good morning. Took two sick days and missed two progressive wins! A couple of extra lucky bingo players hit the jackpot, either Monday or Tuesday, at the Eastside Cannery for over $43,000 and at the Gold Coast for over $36,000. Terrific. It also looks like there was good hotball action during that time. Yesterday was on the light side with about 8 hits. We are not entirely sure if the $5665 high at Fiesta Henderson was an actual win, but it looks like it was. The reason we have a small question is because one of our regular visitors sent an e-mail last week: "Fiesta is adding $4,000.00 to one Thursday money ball. If not hit, it will be back to normal tomorrow." Looks like they decided to let it ride. Oh, one other little item about Fiesta Henderson. On the hot-line this morning, the agent said the progressive was $12,500 and the usual amount would be $10,500. So don't know if they added two grand or just a boo-boo.
We received an e-mail the other day titled "weird happenings" and have put in under OPINIONS. What do you think? Kosher?
From Rag Lady: Postage is going up May 11. Two cents. Gonna be 44 cents per stamp. Get out there and stock up on the Forever Stamp now @ 42 cents, you can continue using it with no extra postage added! I just bought 100 stamps last week, might go back and get 100 more. Also from RL: a fawn gets through a cat door.
That's a wrap. Have a fantastic day. It's not a Monday, but smile anyway :). Sue 6:30am
Monday, April 27 - Good morning, good morning. Not a bad Sunday for bingo with 13 hotball hits and another progressive hit at Terrible's for $10,000! Good going gang.
In part from Brad: "...we had a $2.5 Million dollar winner at Tiny Opera House on Twilight Zone for $1.50 penny bet. Jackpots are ripe right now. This guy was an ex-security officer a while back and was visiting old friends, he is only 37 and a very lucky young man. I love a great story." Can you imagine?
Smile. Sue 7:30am
Sunday, April 26 - Good morning, good morning. Good news for the Fiesta Henderson player who was at the right spot at the right time and won the odd/even progressive for $12,900 yesterday. Way to go. Counted up 9 hotball hits, the high at the Gold Coast's 9pm for $3,497. Had a little trouble understanding the Poker Palace agent this morning, but think the amounts are correct.
A couple of give-aways today listed on the April promo page. Thanks Ace for gathering that info for the players.
We have an OPINION! from D&D. Thank you. ( P.S. 7:38am - BTW, we recommended that players report such issues to supervisors/managers and we did write to the manager about the covered ball, and was told that between the security cameras and the manager's own eagle eye, nothing was amiss. At least we also raised the issue.)

LOL - Have a great Sunday. Sue 7:28am
Saturday, April 25 - Good morning, good morning. Well finally, a player at Terrible's hit the 7pm Dual Daub for $10,000. Good for you. 13 hotball hits with the high at South Point for $4,384. Not a bad day at all.
If you haven't heard the 911 warthog call - click on link for the funny shortie. I started to feel sorry for the wife until hubby said it's a take on an old vaudeville joke. Duh.
Dee also sent in a Criss Angel video, the particular one I didn't find, but check this one out - Mindfreak. Good grief. And there are plenty more on YouTube. He's playing at the Luxor and tickets range from $59 to $160.
Namechk.com is a way to see if your preferred user name is taken on many popular sites.
Time for Friday Fun - many of the rooms have extra good bingo tonight. Good Luck. Keep the Gambling Gremlins at bay. Sue 7:18am
Friday, April 24 - Good morning, good morning. Bam! An early progressive hit at little Fiesta Rancho for $11,604. The Dual Daub jackpot was set at only 33 numbers. Good for the winner. Little Fiesta Henderson indeed jumped up its 9pm hotball to over $5,000. That's a surprise. Terrible's is on-line this morning and those 38# $10,000 Dual Daubs still there. Plaza absent this morning.
A missing child - though happened in Canada, we have a link to her picture. America's Most Wanted also lists a missing 4 yr. old, Allyson Corrales, from Kansas City, MO, but might now be in Mexico. What could be worse than a missing child?
Be aware, take care. Sue 7:00am
Thursday, April 23 - Good morning, good morning. Action was good with 13 hits and a high of $6,704 at Sam's Town. Sorry, but Terrible's was not updated on the hotline so don't know if those two $10,000 jackpots, one at 11am and one at 7pm still there. Also, Fiesta Henderson said the 9pm hotball was $5,057 and so did the website but that would be way out of the norm for that little room. Not sure what's going on there since normally the hotball would be more like $557.
Sam's Town giving away a duffel bag today. And then there's that five digit hotball at the 1pm session.
No opinions today. Darn. Get lucky if you go out. Sue 7:30am
Wednesday, April 22 - Good morning. Action was on the slow side yesterday with only about 5 hotball hits. The high was certainly decent though at $4,804 at the Suncoast.
Here's an OPINION - this lady is a sweetheart.
And we received information that some of the bingo managers are finding the opinions funny (that's my word for it). Well gang, hope you keep sending in your opinions.
Here's an interesting painting from Dee - move your cursor over the face for the name and double click for a bio. Thanks. In an e-mail from Rag Lady: "Mark your calendar for April 23 at 8:00 p.m. EDT! We are holding an exciting one-time national event called Town Hall for Hope, and you're invited!"
Have a wonderful Wednesday. Sue 7:48am
Tuesday, April 21 - Good morning, good morning. We're going to have a hot one today - high around 95F. I love it. Yesterday. Counted up 13 hotball hits, Plaza not updated, high at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $3,750. Not bad.
Click here for the OPINION from the Canadian I mentioned yesterday. She started off her e-mail with a compliment that just turns my head: "First off, MANY THANKS for all the hard work and dedication you put into Bingoupdate!! I have been a follower of your site for many years, and after you were gone for a while, I decided just to take a chance to see if you were "back". I was thrilled to find out indeed you were,..." Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I truly appreciate your kind words and we all appreciate your opinion.
Have a great day and a very lucky day should you play. Sue 8:15am
Monday, April 20 - Surprise hit at Arizona Charlie's Boulder again! The Dual Daub was set at only 33 numbers and a player hit the jackpot for $28,851! Arizona Charlie's Boulder last paid out their progressive jackpot on March 24 set at only 34 numbers. 14 hotball hits including the giant one at the South Point for $12,843. Wow.
If you are interested in volunteer work - go to KNPR and click on Volunteer-A-Thon.
There was an ad in the newspaper by Health Fair where you can have three heart disease tests for $169. The ad indicated that these tests would cost over $1300 at most hospitals. Just goes to show you how much such tests are overcharged to our insurance companies, but that's a whole 'nother story. If you are interested in finding out more, just put your zip code in the locate window. Sounds like a bargain, but I don't really know the ins and outs..
Okay, it's a Monday so be extra smiley :). Sue 7:06am
Sunday, April 19 - Good morning, good morning. Congratulations to the lucky player who finally caught one of those $10,000 jackpots at Terrible's. A progressive hit and 11 hotball hits made for another decent bingo day in Las Vegas. For new visitors, the action that we mention does not include the six Station bingo rooms, so the action is undoubtedly always much better.
From a regular: "Local regular player gets lucky on the 36th number and knocks off the $ 10,000 Jackpot....at the 5PM session....7PM is still up for the taking. Having problems bringing up Station Casinos Bingo webpage, and when I do get it, shows last update of 4/16....anyone else having a problem with this site....not playing their bingo, but still curious."
And we have an OPINION! - click here. I love his last sentence - LOL.
Okay Bingo Gang, have a fantastic day. Sue 8:12am
Saturday, April 18 - Good morning, good morning. I counted up 17 hotball hits! Vegas Bingo Players have been on one heckuva roll as far as hitting the hotball aka cashball. Good for you.
Be good. Sue 7:22am
Friday, April 17 - Good morning, good morning. A wow day - 13 hotball hits, two over $7,000 and two over $4,000. Way to go players.
Have a great day. Keep it simple and win if you play! Sue 8:18am
Thursday, April 16 - Good morning, good morning. Another red-letter day for Vegas Bingo Players - 18 hotball hits! The high was at the Suncoast for $6,045, next at South Point for $4,073, and third at the Gold Coast for $3,838. I'd say a very good day. But those two $10,000 38# jackpots still at Terrible's. Taking a while.
Dee and I are on the same track. I read about Susan Boyle in the newspaper yesterday and thought it would be a good one to look up on the internet and use for this page. Lo and behold, Dee sent in an e-mail with the link to her outstanding performance on "Britain's Got Talent." What a voice! Also from Dee we have the Canadian Fiddle Finals - two guys, one fiddle.
At the suggestion of a regular visitor, we set up a Player's Opinion Page so send in your comments for posting. We hope to get some interesting e-mails from you. What you love about bingo, what you hate about bingo, what you would do if you were a bingo manager.
Want to see a picture of me in the bathtub? Click here :). Have a great day. Sue 6:58am
Wednesday, April 15 - My goodness, what a gloomy day out there. So unusual for our fantastic city. Maybe connected to TAX day :). Not only the filing deadline for the feds, but today is that Tea Party day.
Hotball action was good again with 12 hits and the high at Eastside Cannery for $4,007. Four hits at the Cannery albeit three under a thousand. Today, you can get an Alarm Clock Radio if you play bingo at Sam's Town. On the April calendar, we also note Cannery (on Craig Rd.) is having cash drawings. Again, our thanks to Ace for putting calendar together.
Have a great day and good luck if you get to play. Sue 7:47am
Tuesday, April 14 - Good morning, good morning. Another decent bingo day with about 11 hits and the high was that $6,631 hotball jackpot at the South Point I mentioned yesterday.
Great surprise from our friend, Ace. He worked up a calendar for what's left of April. I am sure bingo players appreciate the info and Ace, thank you - you are a sweetie.
At a visitor's suggestion, in the next day or two, we are putting up a Player's Opinion Page - a place where you can express your opinion about bingo related issues.
That's a wrap. Hope you have a spectacular day. Sue 7:15am
Monday, April 13 - Good morning, good morning. Not a bad day with about 11 hotball hits, but those two 38# jackpots at Terrible's still there. Just a note, but at this time in the morning South Point is showing the 9pm hotball at $631 and on the hot-line the agent said $6,631. I believe the agent is correct.
Info regarding the Las Vegas Tea Party which is set for 4/15 at Sunset and Eastern: APRIL 13, 11 AM TO 6PM: Sign-making at CCRP HQ (574 S. Decatur Blvd). Please bring your own materials for making signs and come as you can!
We received one of those uplifting e-mails today: "We went to Bingo Update just to see, by chance, if you were back & you are! We live in Nebraska & come to Vegas a couple times each year to play Bingo & always love to check out what’s going on before we get there. Thanks for all the information! We love the site!!" Thank you for taking the time to write - it means a lot to me.
Thanks for the contact Ace about helping out. I'll give you a call.
Sue 7:47am
Easter Sunday, April 12 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo players are on a roll - 15 hits yesterday with the high at the Suncoast for $4,477. Cannery players took away four hotball jackpots and players at little Poker Palace hit the jackpot three sessions in a row. Way to go.
A few places to go if bingo is in your plans today:
Arizona Charlie's Boulder - Easter basket, $500 second chance cashball, $6 paper rainbows, machine special
Arizona Charlie's Decatur - Easter basket, $500 second chance cashball, triple $1000 c/a 11am & 9pm, Super C/A
Eastside Cannery - Nickel/Dime game at 2pm session
Gold Coast & Suncoast - Four $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm & 3pm sessions (regular pay)
Poker Palace - $5 small rainbows, one free red pack with slot card
Silver Nugget - $23 Manager's Special, Rate N Rank, free rainbow at 1pm, 5pm, and 9pm sessions
South Point - Four $1000 coveralls at the 1pm & 3pm sessions
Cannery - Double action with triple coveralls at the 4pm session
Have a wonderful and happy Easter Sunday. Sue 8:25am
Saturday, April 11 - Good morning, good morning. Another decent day for bingo players with around 12 hits and the high at Terrible's for $5,026. Did you notice that Terrible's has two sessions where the $10,000 jackpot is at 38 numbers?
I messed up yesterday about that Spring Fling - I think I need a break! - The Spring Fling is tonight and it is at the EASTSIDE Cannery.
Rose and Charles - we wish you a very happy anniversary!
Sue 8:25am
Friday, April 10 - Good morning, good morning. Action was decent yesterday with about 13 hotball hits; three at the South Point and the high at the Suncoast for $3,486 were among the assorted wins.
I need a volunteer! I started to do an April calendar and have run out of time. Is there anyone out there that would work one up and e-mail it to me? In fact, I was thinking if anyone wants to have their own page, let me know. Some ideas, Bernie's Bingo Blog, or Bernie's Classified Ads, or Bernie's whatever. You could set up whatever in Word or Word Perfect and e-mail to bingojackpots@aol.com. Assuming nothing obscene, etc., chances are great I'll put it up. You know, kind of have your own column :). Players only, no bingo operators please.
From what I see so far, most places are giving away a dauber on Easter Sunday. Arizona Charlies' are putting their dauber in a little Easter basket. Cannery is having a Spring Fling tomorrow at the 10pm session. Sounds like a good game.
Well folks, turns out that e-mail from Brad I posted yesterday was in error. I had checked the date it was sent to me which was 4/9, but Brad sent the following: "That email was sent out to everyone on Saturday. Did you just get it? Our game was Sunday, and the first Saturday of every month is the day we do the $1,000 Coverall's." Well, needless to say, we will stay away from posting any undated, unclear, promos, etc.
Good luck, always and thanks for visiting. Sue 7:38am
Thursday, April 9 - Holy Smokes - the JUMBO hit sometime yesterday at one of the six linked Station bingo rooms. One extremely happy player won $124,479! The jackpot went to 55 numbers on Tuesday and a player hit it on Wednesday. Not much more to say except WOW. The high hotball hit was at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $4,253. That was good.
Brad sent the following: Silver Nugget Bingo Blast! TODAY - Win the Coverall at any session today and win $1,000 on any color card! TOMORROW - $5,000 Player Appreciation Bingo 11am. Donuts 9am – 10am Hope to see you here! Don’t forget your qualifying entries need to be signed in advance."
Have a wonderful, happy day. Sue 7:32am
Wednesday, April 8 - Good morning, good morning. What a hot bingo day - at least 18 hotball jackpots went onto the palms of lucky VBPs! The high was at Eastside Cannery for $5,456 and a close second at Sam's for $5,111. Good going guys.
Sometime ago I mentioned the Medicine Cabinet as a possible way to cut down on the cost of prescriptions, but a recent article in the RJ talks about Partnership for Prescription Assistance for free or discounted prescription drugs (depending on your income). The article indicates that the Medicine Cabinet has a monthly fee of $25. Nevada's Division on Aging also has an RX program.
Had a great time golfing yesterday, enjoying friends and the beautiful day. And I pretty much stayed out of trouble :). Enjoy your day. Sue 8:12am
Tuesday, April 7 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up 9 hotball hits with the high by far at the South Point for $5,944. That's a goodie. Have some "odd odds" again - the 9am session at the three Boyd Properties had hotball winners, all under a $1,000. Admittedly, I haven't been to bingo for a while, but I personally don't pay for validation when the jackpot is under a thousand. But the lucky players get my congratulations for winning.
Top news - Stations' Jumbo went to 55 numbers today. Terrible's 7pm $10,000 pot went to 38 numbers. Good luck.
I am going to play a little golf today! Trouble is, when I am out I usually end up "out and about." Wish me luck :) :) :) Sue 7:25am
Monday, April 6 - And a happy Monday morning to you. We see about 10 hotball hits for yesterday with 5 of those at the 5pm sessions. Odd odds. The high hit was at the South Point for $4,781. Good money.
Dee sent in "Terrific Illusion" - human sawed in half. Another something else. Oh Dee, I couldn't find an internet link for that beautiful pps show "Spring is Coming." Sorry I couldn't share, but I enjoyed :).
Smile. Sue 8:04am
Sunday, April 5 - Good morning, good morning. Couple of high hits yesterday with $7,791 at Sam's and $5,989 at Suncoast. Those amounts would sure help out, no?
Computer problems this morning, sorry for the delay. But hope you have a happy day. Sue 8:58am
Saturday, April 4 - Good morning, good morning. Huge hit at the South Point - $15,795 hotball went into the hands of a lucky player or a split between lucky players. Two other hits over $5,000 and a total of at least 13 hotball hits for the day. Very good bingo day.
From Doris, we have trivia, but interesting trivia LOL: What is so different about the 8th of July this year? At five minutes and six seconds after 4 AM on the 8th of July this year, the time and date will be 04:05:06 07/08/09. This will never happen again.
Many thanks to the contributors for interesting links. More to come as I just started to hit the e-mail. :) :) :). Have a great day. The Guitar Guys are coming over (moved from last week to today) and I'm loving the spruced up house. Sue 8:05am
Friday, April 3 - Good morning, good morning and is there ever a happy Sam's Town player out there! $31,157 happy. An early hit since the progressive went to 54 numbers yesterday. Terrific. Quite a few hotball hits with the high at the South Point for $6,734. The Bingo Goddess was perky yesterday.
Overslept, quite behind with the mail, but eventually... You have a special day. Sue 8:43am
Thursday, April 2 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player at little Poker Palace won the Dual Daub jackpot for $22,404! Congratulations and hope your good luck continues.
Rose was at South Point's Bingo Gala and met a couple, Janet and Gregg, who were from her home state of Missouri. As they chatted, come to find out they visit Vegas once a year and had been to a number of bingo rooms (went to Suncoast for their big pot). Rose asked how they knew where to go, etc. and Gregg said: "Oh, the internet, bingoupdate." What a hoot. Rose had a good time explaining who she was. Small world, no? Oh yes, they said they check the site frequently, even thought about setting up a spreadsheet on the progressive wins, and loved the comments page. Made my day.
Have a terrific day. Win if you play and most importantly - take the winnings out the door! Sue 7:55am
Wednesday, April 1 - Good morning, good morning. TWO progressives hit. Suncoast paid out $43,172 to a very lucky player and the Dual Daub at Fiesta Rancho hit either yesterday or the day before for at least $13,929. Plus at least 13 hotball hits. Way to go bingo players!
The Bingo Bugle for April is up. We'll try to highlight the month's promos soon.
If you enjoy hoaxes, visit the Museum of Hoaxes. For today, it mentions that an electrical engineer figured out that today's date is a square root date and next April Fool's square date doesn't fall until April 1, 6016. "Of course, this is of no significance whatsoever. Or is it???" LOL
Alas, there is a computer worm out there - a new variation of Conficker, a fast-spreading computer worm also known as Downadup, could attack millions of computers today-- April Fool's Day. "Experts say it's unknown whether the worm will cause havoc or merely turn out to be an April's Fool prank. But people can protect their computers by using security software." The Chicago Tribune article said: "computer users need to download an application of Microsoft software -- available online at tinyurl.µcom/µ5lyxe -- to detect and disable the worm."
There was an article in the RJ titled "Easter Basket Donations Sought for Kids." "The E Bunny program seeks donations of pre-packaged Easter baskets for needy children in the valley. The private, charitable program has grown in 19 years, from delivering 25 baskets the first year to more than 1,300 last year. For more information, contact Barbara Kenig at 498-9808, or via e-mail at barbarakenig@aol.com."
Watch out for pranksters! Sue 7:18am
Tuesday, March 31 - Good morning, good morning. Two back-to-back great hits at the Gold Coast - $5,077 and $5,727. Wow. We like that.
In the meanwhile, have some fun and win some money. Sue 8:32am
Monday, March 30 - It's a Monday! Smile and the whole world..... Partial data again today with two rooms not updated, but it does look like yesterday was not particularly exciting in Las Vegas Bingoland. Three hits in the high range though - $4,843 at Sam's; $4,314 at the Gold Coast, and $3,595 at the Plaza.
Have a happy day. Sue 7:28am
Sunday, March 29 - Good morning, good morning. Cannery and the two Fiestas not on the hotline this morning. The Fiestas do have a website with the jackpot info, but notice that the 36# progressive at Rancho is the same this morning as it was yesterday morning. There was a notable hit yesterday at Sam's Town for a hefty $8,574.
Oh, oh. Received the following from Louise regarding yesterday's link to the Sistine Chapel: "that is a beautiful view of A chapel -- but it is NOT the Sistine Chapel. i have been there - it looks nothing like that. in fact -- go here - it is the vatican's website of the REAL Sistine Chapel, and describes in detail."
Bird Loves Ray Charlies video from Doris - can't believe this bird shakin', shakin', shakin'. LOL. Doris also sent in the knock-off recipe for Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana Soup. Sounds good but I personally would stay away from the spicy sausage, go with mild.
We have a number of e-mails with pps, wmv, etc. which would require downloading. On this comments page, we can only use links to the relevant website. But mucho thanks. It helps a great deal when we hear from you.
Don't let those nasty Gambling Gremlins spoil your day. If you play, walk out winning (W.O.W.). Sue 8:00 am
Saturday, March 28 - Good morning, good morning. Well, a lucky and perhaps determined player won the $14,100 Grandé yesterday! Good for you. Was at 56 numbers since March 17th. High hotball hit happened at the Suncoast for $5,176 and the progressive there went up a notch today.
From Dee, a fascinating site to view the Sistine Chapel. "Use the displayed arrow keys to move around the chapel. Don't forget to look at the ceiling. Also, click the right side end button to enlarge the image to full screen. This is a most incredible scan. Absolutely wonderful and beautiful. Go up and down and all around. And look at the ceiling from the various alcoves and aisles."
Another interesting connection from Dee - a world clock. The statistics are incredible. Check it out.
Wishing you a Super Saturday. Sue 8:00am
Friday, March 27 - Good morning, good morning. Players at Sam's had the high hit for $5,879. Good money if you can get it. See about 12 hits making for a decent players' day. Don't know about Fiesta Rancho today. Had trouble getting the hotball info, but looks like the progressive is still there.
I know, I know. Was supposed to get caught up on e-mail but too late this morning. Have a great weekend. Sue 8:43am
Thursday, March 26 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up nine hotball hits, but six were under a grand. The high was $1,794 at Arizona Charlie's Decatur. Not sure about that 11am at Arizona Charlie's Boulder - sounded like either $2,863 or $3,863 - If $3,863 correct, obviously didn't hit the other day. Rose went to the Cannery on Tuesday, got there in time to play the 2pm and found that the dual daub was at 32 numbers. She asked when it went and the agent told her at the noon session. Dang Rose, just missed a chance on that one.
Have an early morning appointment so not enough time to check e-mail. Will do tomorrow. Have a great day. Sue 7:00am
Wednesday, March 25 - OMGoodness, two progressives hit! A lucky VBP won $37,876 at Arizona Charlie's on the Boulder Highway. That jackpot was set at only 34 numbers. We remember seeing that a couple of times before at Arizona Charlie's Boulder - a progressive hit even though set less than 36 numbers. The Dual Daub does hit in less than 36 numbers of course, but most of the time the SET number is 36 or higher. Oh, and two great hotball hits at Arizona Charlie's Boulder - $3,607 and $4,453.
The other wonder hit was at the Cannery on Craig Road, but not sure if it hit Monday or Tuesday. The winner won at least $41,831. Isn't that a great win? How long does it take an average working person to SAVE that kind of money? The jackpot was set at 36 numbers and had jumped to 36 on Sunday. Didn't take long
Congratulations to the lucky players. Hope you have a terrifc day and lots of good luck should you play. Sue 8:20am
Tuesday, March 24 - Good morning, good morning. Improved action with a giant hotball gone yesterday - $10,900 at the Gold Coast. Good for the winner or winners. We never know if hotball hits are splits or a lucky single winner. The Cannery and Terrible's not on the hotline this morning, so don't know what's going on at those two rooms. Hmm, Cannery had a 36 number Dual Daub Monday morning. Still there?
Beautiful day coming our way. Enjoy. Sue 7:00am
Monday, March 23 - Whoa, bad day in Bingoland. Only four hits, two under a grand. Now we don't know about the Grandé at Fiesta Henderson since we didn't get an update from an agent on the hotline and the amount of the progressive on their website is typically a day behind. In other words, it might have gone yesterday so if you are chasing that one, might want to call first.
Hope Las Vegas Bingo Players fare much better today.
Went to the Winchester Cultural Center yesterday and enjoyed a terrific Dixeland Jazz Band sponsored by the Jazz Society and the Guitar Society. You wouldn't believe the professional-level entertainment provided for ten bucks. While at the center, noticed two postings that I thought I'd share: Catholic Charities looking for Foster Grandparents - call 647-1515; and Catholic Charities has a "Telephone Reassurance" program for those that live alone - call 382-0721. There was also a posting by the Nevada Seniors Coalition about an upcoming meeting with Attorney General Masto as the guest speaker. Sorry, didn't get the date but if you are interested, contact the president, Ken Mahal at 737-1377.
Here's the last of those safety tips from SR:
9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.
10. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and then attack. Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbors!
Yes, always be aware, alert of your surroundings. Have a safe, happy, and lucky Monday. Sue 7:42am
Extra Smiles!
Sunday, March 22 - Good morning, good morning. Little on the light side yesterday with about 8 hotball hits and three of those at busy South Point. Rose told me the place was jumping on Friday with March Madness and all. The high hit was at the Suncoast for $4,158. Good hit.
Ace sent the following regarding the $10,000 hit on Friday: "It got hit on the 37th number, by a very nice regular local player....and her name just happens to be SUE....wish it was you....but very happy for her." Ahh, how sweet.
Doris let us know that there is a book out there titled " The Art of Doing Nothing." This little book "encourages you to try catnapping, daydreaming, breathing deeply, and going with the flow as practical ways to rest, relax, and mellow out." Doris, I have to confess, I pretty much have that particular art down to a science :).
A couple more safety tips from SR:
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be and the perfect crime spot. This is specially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped, or killed.Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
I haven't been to Las Vegas Bingoland in quite a while. What's your take on how the game in general is doing? Just wondering. You all have a fantastic Sunday. Sue 8:15am
Saturday, March 21 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player hit the other 38# $10,000 jackpots at Terrible's yesterday. Way to go! Two in two days.
This next one is so terrible, I couldn't look at all the pictures - from Dee, 9/11 pictures.
Another safety tip from SR:
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
Have a good one. Sue 8:12am
Friday, March 20 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player hit one of those 38# $10,000 jackpots at Terrible's yesterday. Way to go.
Have a Fun Friday, stay out of trouble :). Sue 8:00am
Thursday, March 19 - That South Point humongous jackpot set at 36 numbers went yesterday. From their website: "ANOTHER LUCKY WINNER AT SOUTH POINT WINNING THE DOUBLE ACTION FOR $66,196 AT THE 9PM SESSION IN 34 NUMBERS CONGRATULATIONS TO JAMES." Wow.
The Forest Service has a website on Mt. St. Helens. Remember when it erupted in 1980? Here are phots of the "Teardrop Memorial," a gift from the Russian people in memory of the 9/ll victims. Thanks RL & Louise.
Have a great day! Sue 8:10am
Wednesday, March 18 - Good morning, good morning. Decent day yesterday with about 13 hits and a high of $5,915 at the Gold Coast. Little surprised that a progressive didn't go. Just never know. Rose played a session at the South Point and said a couple, between them, won 9 times including first and second chance coveralls. Talk about being on a lucky streak.
I fell off the wagon and played a bit yesterday. No luck. Dang, so much fun to win and so much gloom to lose. Hope you have a good luck day Sue 8:15am
Tuesday, March 17 - Top of the morning to you! Lots of action yesterday - at least 16 hotball hits and some progressives "progressed" today. 'Tis a holiday and not unusual for a big one to go on a special day.
Here's another one of those safety tips:
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their chequebook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.
Okay gang, go get 'em. Wear green. Sue 7:38am
Monday, March 16 - Good morning, good morning. Hope Las Vegas bingo players had lots of wins this past couple of days, and if no win, at least lots of fun. We had a wonderfully relaxing time at my sister's in Arizona. But traffic sure backs up for miles before the slowdown for Hoover Dam, in both directions. When we finally got to the Nevada side, the bumper-to-bumper traffic heading to Arizona stretched from Boulder City to the dam. That was on a Sunday afternoon. The by-pass is needed indeed.
We have posted safety tips in the past, but worth repeating. S.R. sent in 10, we'll post the first three today, and more tomorrow.
"Because of recent abductions, In daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation...
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. Learned this from a tourist guide: If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.. Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you,and he will go for the wallet/purse.RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives."
Many thanks to all the contributors of interesting internet links. Makes it easy for me :). Okay, have a great one. Hope you win big, or at least something! Sue 8:03am.
Thursday, March 12 - Good morning, good morning. Vegas Bingo Players are smokin'. You guys hit the hotball aka cashball jackpot 18 times yesterday! Wow.
Have a wonderful weekend. Hubby and I decided to get out of Dodge for a couple of days. Talk with you Monday. Sue 7:45am
Wednesday, March 11 - Good morning, good morning. Players at little, paper only, Fiesta Rancho were on a wild streak hitting the hotball jackpot FIVE times. Fourteen hits for the day. Not bad.
Good luck, happy "jackpot" hunting. Sue 8:20am
Tuesday, March 10 - Today's bingo news is all about the gigantic win at the Gold Coast. A lucky VBP hit the Even Bettor set at only 53 numbers for a terrific $40,334. That went fast. Wow. Eleven hotball hits, with the high at the South Point for $4,811, added to the day's winnings. Good going.
Here's an interesting YouTube video about logging. Not many would think that would be interesting, but it sure is a far cry from manual labor. Then we have "a video of a homeless man in Santa Barbara and his pets (a dog, cat, and rat). They work State Street every week for donations." Feel sorry for him and, at the same time, admire his initiative. Also, the "Quick Wedding," a short and funny Bud Light commercial.
Have an especially special day. Sue 7:57am
Monday, March 9 - Good morning, good morning. Somebody let the steam out of the roller. Counted seven hits, three of those at Eastside Cannery. The hight at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $2,338. Slow Sunday.
One of our regular visitors sent the following warning. "You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation 'Life is beautiful.' If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately . If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'" We don't open e-mails with attachments if we don't know the sender.
Monday, Monday. Smile, smile. Sue 7:00am
Sunday, March 8 - Good morning, good morning. Oh my, you guys are on a steamroller hitting at least 16 hotball jackpots with stunning action at Sam's Town - 4 hits totaling over $14,000. Then you have the high at Suncoast for $5,804 and three good hits in a row at the South Point. Keep rolling.
Rag Lady sent in a YouTube video of bears pole dancing. Is that how it started? Doris plays games at Pogo.com and says you do not have to be a paid member to play. She likes word whomp, scrabble, trivial pursuit, and mahjong.
Did you catch the newspaper article the other day about this guy who was sentenced to 12 years for his role in a counterfeiting ring? This dude played the machines with fake $100 bills so authentic looking they got by the validator and they caught him because - he was using his player's card!!!
Lots of good bingo going on Sunday afternoons. Hope you win if you go to play. Sue 7:08am
Saturday, March 7 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo players were hot, hot yesterday. Someone hit the progressive coverall at Terrible's for $15,057 set at 52 numbers and the $10,088 1pm hotball at Sam's Town is down to $5,574 today. Still a nice pot. 14 hotball hits and a progressive hit no doubt made for a Fun Friday for the bingo winners.
Delta was the victim of a fraudulent e-mail scam and their website says the e-mails were "sent to consumers in the last 24 hours." Though the advisory notice is dated 2/28/09, we thought we'd mention this scam just in case.
From Doris: "Do you know the #1 song the day you were born? Go to www.joshhosler.biz. Mine was "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby. Did I just give my age away?
Have a lucky day! Sue 7:05am
Friday, March 6 - Good morning, good morning. The Bingo Goddess had a favorite player yesterday, bestowing him or her with a $38,318 win. The lucky player was at the Eastside Cannery playing the Dual Daub game set at 36 numbers and then BAM. Good for the winner. The rest of story, not so great. Counted up only six hotball jackpots. Oh, wait, heard on the hotline that the Plaza had a $10,000 winner yesterday. Much better.
The South Point has a Nickel/Dime game tonight at 9pm. The Cannery has a Nickel/Dime game at 10pm tonight. The Eastside Cannery has Double Action with three coveralls ($1,000, $1,000 and $500) at 10pm tonight. Poker Palace has $5 Small Rainbows and a free red pack (with slot card) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Silver Nugget has a $23 Manager's Special, all regular sessions, which gets you 5 rainbows, 3 red, 3 blue, and 6 dual daubs. Now that's a deal. Silver Nugget also has the new Rate N Rank. Check it out. Sunset has a 19 game session with triple $1,000 coveralls at the 9pm session tonight.
Here's a video of the Ultimate Wedding Dance - what a glorious sense of humor this couple has. They are headed for a life together with not only love, but lots of laughter. Thanks Louise for that internet link. And from Dee, a short video of a sleeping dog who apparently is dreaming that he is "chasing" something. Funny.
Have a Fun, Fun Friday. Sue 7:27am
Thursday, March 5 - Good morning, good morning. High hit at Sam's Town for $4,589. A goodie and a decent day with 12 hits in all.
Plaza has a 50 number Bonanza game for $5,000, a 52 number $10,000 Super Coverall, and a secondary hotball jackpot (today $3,000). Arizona Charlie's Decatur has a 32 number $25,000 Dual Daub and a $10,000 Super Coverall (is that a 52# jackpot?). Arizona Charlie's Decatur has $8 Small Rainbows, triple $1,000 coveralls at the 11am and 9pm sessions, and double pay with second chance coverall at the 1pm and 7pm sessions. Arizona Charlie's Boulder has $6 paper small rainbows and Small Rainbows Machine Special - buy two or more and get the same number free (up to six free in the machine). Both Arizona Charlie's have a $1,000 coverall at the 1am session. Will try to highlight some of the other rooms this week.
I put the "calendar" on a separate page in case you want to print it out.
Mom used to say "do the best you can" and "do the right thing." Life simplified. Have a terrific day. Sue 7:35am
Wednesday, March 4 - Good morning, good morning. Players at Sam's Town caught the 9pm hotball jackpot for $4,062 and players at the Suncoast won the 7pm hotball for $3,040. We see about 8 hits for the day for the ones we track.
Slept in, so a little late this morning. At least I feel extra rested :). Have a great day. Sue 8:45am
Tuesday, March 3 - Another big day for Las Vegas bingo players, especially the extra lucky ones who went to the Gold Coast and took away those two monster jackpots - $8,058 and $10,400! Wow. 16 hits in all.

Monday, March 2 - Good morning, good morning. Whoa Nelly. What a fantastic Sunday for VBPs. Nineteen, yep 19, hotball hits with serious payouts at the South Point - $4,367 and $5,007. Only three hits under a thousand. Good going. Assume the volume was due to increased traffic on a first Sunday of the month. But who knows?
Sam's Town is giving away a six pack of light bulbs today. Hopefully, the energy savings kind.
Rag Lady sent in hard to believe pictures of cakes from a Russian Cake Contest . Wow. That's a far cry from covering a box cake with store bought frosting. The next one is on the "doom and gloom" side, but here's a site that gives survival information in the event of a catastrophe. Similarly, there was an article in the Parade magazine about solar cookers and how vital these simple cookers are to the refugees of Darfur and others. Wonder how much of our foreign aid goes toward that simple, inexpensive, and worthwhile project. And from Dee, we have Rarely Seen Shuttle Pre-Flight activities.
Monday, Monday. Another "in" day for me, but good luck to you should you go out to play. Sue 7:36am
Sunday, March 1 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player at Terrible's 3pm won the $10,000 Dual Daub set at 36 numbers. Way to go! In addition, players scooped up 8 hotball jackpots around the valley with the high at the Plaza for $4,583. Second high at Arizona Charlie's Decatur for $3,760.
My sister sent me a bunch of pictures of funny billboards in the Canada. Thought I'd share this one :).
Have a great Sunday. I'm still TRYING to stay way, but good luck to you if you play. Sue 7:53am
Saturday, February 28 - Good morning, good morning. The high for yesterday out of 11 hits was at Eastside Cannery for $4,979. Good hit for sure.
Bingo Bugle's March edition is available on-line, takes a few seconds to download the PDF file. Just a quick look at the front page shows that a lady from Florida hit that huge jackpot at the Cannery. Rag Lady was at that 4pm session that day and had left me a message about the win. Dang, I almost went to hook up with RL. Dang. But it was probably destiny for that particular Floridian to win. Fate.
Dee sent in a link to "Born Again American" with the comment " Listen to this excellent song and wonderful musicians." Thanks Dee.
Thursday evening, hubby and I finally got to see "ICE" with those free tickets I received for donating blood a few months back. Amazing show. Truly enjoyed. And today is Guitar Guys and an open house at a neighbor's for a new baby celebration. No lounging around in my robe today :). Hope you have a busy, productive, and happy Saturday. Sue 7:55am
Friday, February 27 - Good morning, good morning. Rolling slowed down yesterday with 7 hits, but at least two were in the high range. Gold Coast paid out $4,512 and Suncoast paid out $3,895. Good.
Sam's Town website indicates the 1pm hotball is $5,372 but the agent said $6,372 on the hotline and that appears to be the correct amount. Much smaller incident is Suncoast's 5pm on their website at $1,711 but the agent said $1,741. I point these out only to show that mistakes do occur on both ends but I do try to give you accurate info.
A new regular, BW, sent in the kind of e-mail that keeps me chugging along: "I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING THIS SITE. THIS BINGO PLAYER APPRECIATES THE HARD WORK IT MUST TAKE TO KEEP THIS SITE UP AND RUNNING. HOPING MY LUCK WILL CHANGE SOON SINCE ITS BEEN MONTHS SINCE ANY WIN MORE THAN LIKE A 100 BUCKS!!!!!" Thank you so much.
We have had a couple of "talks" this week about changing this website but, right now, just that - talks. Just have to wait and see what happens. In all fairness, most of the time keeping bingo players "updated" is not hard work :). What does make it easier though is when you send in interesting (non-political, non-religious) internet links, bingo related news or facts, and/or bingo related opinions or views.
Enjoy this last February Friday. Play smart. Sue 7:33am
Thursday, February 26 - Good morning, good morning. Plaza bingo agents were busy yesterday, paying out three hotball jackpots in a row including the high at $5,222. Good going. We counted up 15 hits, another good bingo day for players. Hotball hits that we know about since last Friday - 15, 15, 12, 9, 14, 15. That's been quite a roll.
From Brad: "The comment sent in by one couple is 90% accurate. Most places it is true that they have cut. They must not have been to the Nugget. We raised our payouts and lowered our buy-in’s. Everybody loves it....". Silver Nugget is the only place at the present time to try the new Rate N Rank. Still early since Rate N Rank only a week old, but curious if players enjoy the addition.
For the more "mature" crowd, Doris sent in "Do You Remember These" which includes Burma Shave clips. Perky background song. BTW Doris, what are those two games you mentioned that you like to play to help keep the brain from going down Alzheimer's lane?
If you happen to want to print today's table that is on the first page, most know to put the cursor on the table and to tell the printer current page only. Unfortunately, the printout will include part of yesterday's table because this software won't let me put a page break between the tables.
Nice weather coming our way, have an especially nice day. Sue 7:32am
Wednesday, February 25 - Good morning, good morning. Players were on a roll yesterday hitting the hotball jackpot 14 times. The high was at South Point for $4,283 and second high at Sam's Town for $3,967. Way to go.
Rag Lady sent in a link to Stimulus Watch. Nevada mayors submitted $1,521,987,313 in projects at the 2008 U.S. Conference of Mayors report. How much will be done and how much with the Federal money apparently remains to be seen. Stimulus Watch has a list for each state. Interesting.
A bingo player aired his views on why he and his wife cut back: "The main reason we cut back our play is we really got tired of the greed
of the bingo halls....they keep cutting the payouts, but never the buy-ins.... The machines are a joke, they suck up your money faster than a vacuum cleaner can....we quit playing altogether...." We would like to hear more views so send in your comments. Do you still play bingo as much as you did last year?
If you do play today, we wish you the best of luck. Sue 7:58am
Tuesday, February 24 - Good morning, good morning. South Point players were hot yesterday - two huge jackpots went to lucky players - one for $9,557 and the other for $4,167. Rose, I didn't get a call but were you in on that action? Rose tends to play at South Point since it became her "closest." Aliante is now my "closest" and I heard that they may be having some limited bingo sessions in the showroom in the near future.
I've been hearing that bingo players have slowed down on their play. Not surprising in this economy, but we would like to hear what it would take to make bingo more appealling, more exciting. Please send in your thoughts on bingo. We are trying to gather info from a player's standpoint, not from an operator's view. We think the new feature at the Silver Nugget called Rate N Rank is a step in the right direction and good for bingo in general. However, this is the first week and we are also interested in how well that works and if you like the concept.
I personally think bingo traffic may be light because the machines are so tight. I remember one player telling me she played a session (chasing a big progressive in the "hittable" range), got on the machines until the next session, then ran out of money and bye-bye bingo. That may be uncommon, don't know. Anyway, please send in your thoughts - good, bad, are indifferent.
Good luck out there. Sue 7:43am
Monday, February 23 - Good morning, good morning. Players at Eastside Cannery were showing off yesterday by hitting hotball jackpots four times including first and second highs at $3,686 and $3,319. We see at least 12 hits for a decent bingo Sunday. (As regular visitors know, this doesn't include action at Stations.)
We had a reminder about Cocoa Mulch, harmful to cats and dogs. We also had an e-mail about the Louvre - you can take virtual tours of the famous musem.
Monday, Monday. Smile and have an extra special day! Sue 8:08am
Sunday, February 22 - Good morning, good morning. Vegas Bingo Players had a good day yesterday hitting the hotball jackpot about 15 times. Looks like the high was again at Sam's Town for $3,156.
Brad with the Silver Nugget sent in two flyers giving us more information about the new "Rate N Rank." Read about the exciting feature by clicking here. Very, very interesting. Get a chance to win cash even if you didn't get to yell bingo. Most of us know that XPC stands for extra play cash on the slots. Maybe this would be like XBC, extra bingo cash :). Anyway, I'm sure we'll hear more about this.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Keep those gambling gremlins at bay. Sue 8:08am
Saturday, February 21 - Good morning, good morning. Did you notice that fantastic action at Sam's Town yesterday? All I can say is wow, four times.
We heard there is a new bingo feature at the Silver Nugget which sounds very interesting. Even exciting. Our e-mail in part from a regular says it is called a: "bonus package....you earn points for each card you have that are 1, 2, 3 or 4 away when anyone gets bingo....this is done automatically by the computer....end of the week, high scores get cash ranging from $500 on down to $25...." Wow again.
I got hooked on Suduko a while back, but now another game is stealing my time. Parade magazine mentioned the Split Words at AARP as a favorite of the writer and darn if I didn't go there and get caught up. I'm warning you.
Have a great Saturday and a great win if you go out to play :). Sue 7:48am
Friday, February 20 - Good morning, good morning. I've received some interest about improving bingoupdate.com and have a couple of upcoming brainstorming meetings. In the meanwhile, I decided to keep bingoupdate.com up and running. One of the ideas is a new look, more bingo content, and with the goal to increase traffic. On the opposite side, is a stripped down version to pretty much the first page. Hang in there :). Sue 9:20am
Thursday, February 19 - Potentially good news. I've received several e-mails with new ideas for this website. I should know more next week and will keep you apprised. Good luck at your favorite bingo room! Sue Thurs. 2/19
Thursday, February 12 - I've been posting daily jackpot info for a long time and have decided to give it a rest for an indefinite period of time. I will leave the links to the various bingo rooms up for the time being. If anyone is interested in working with me, at least as a backup, send me an e-mail at bingojackpots@aol.com. Sue Thurs. 2/12
I just found out yesterday that my nephew who lives in Cleveland has a website that displays his artwork. Marc survived a traumatic injury as a child (see his bio) and I am so proud of his accomplishments. He receives a small disability check and has a little part-time job at Target. His mother tells me prints of his work are available for $50. I hope you will fall in love with one of his pictures and will even buy one from him. I fell in love with several, but particularly No. 11, Intermission. And I also have to buy No. 24, A Mother's Love, for my son who is into unicorns. Please go to ranalloart.com. Thanks. Sue Thurs. 2/12
Tuesday, February 10 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up 17 hotball hits making for a rather good bingo day! The high was at Sam's Town for $5,347. Terrible's not updated on the hotline this morning, so action might have been even better.
Here's a fun site - Penny Postcards. I went to my hometown, Erie, PA, and clicked ont the public library postcard. Brought back soothing memories.
We heard from a visitor that Boulder made some changes to the 7pm and 9pm sessions - "New 7PM has 3 C/As but 1st one is by color card pays 250/500/750/1000; 2nd & 3rd pays 250 Blue/red & 500 Green/Tan.,.....(only 3 games pays triple).......
New 9PM has 3 C/As, first by color card same as 7PM, second chance is $500 any color card....third is a fabulous $100 any color card.........double action session.". Apparently before the change, it was "7 & 9 PM was 3 chance C/As, first 2 @ $1,000 and third @ $500...regular pay"
Yesterday's story about reversing your PIN is false according to Snopes. We try to check stuff like that out first, but messed up on that one.
Have a great day! Sue 7:40am
Monday, February 9 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball action on the players' side with hits such as $7,333 at the South Point, and $5,326 and $3,982 at the Eastside Cannery. A whole lotta money.
Here's a cool one minute video of a guy using spray paint to create a space picture. If you are in the mood for a flight, go to this video. "Move your cursor right and left on the screen on this site, and you will have the impression you are flying over mountains in the winter."
Post Script after morning publication. Sue 3:40pm - SNOPES SAYS FOLLOWING FALSE: I usually check such things out before publishing, but this one got by me. Sorry 'bout that. Here's one of those safety/security tips that most of us seem to have a hard time remembering even though they are IMPORTANT: "If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently broadcasted on FOX TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists."
Thanks contributors. All, have a smiley Monday. Sue 7:15am
Sunday, February 8 - Good morning, good morning. Crazy good in Bingoland yesterday. A progressive hit at Fiesta Rancho for $13,269 and at least 18 hotball hits! Traffic had to be heavy at the Cannery where players scooped up FIVE hotballs, probably because of the huge 36 number jackpot. Players at Terrible's enjoyed three hotball hits and the 5pm ten grand went to 38 numbers today. What a day!
I finished my latest crochet project - a doll dress for my buddy in PA, Doris - for her raspberry guest room. Click here for some photos and I had to include the pantaloons, petticoat, dress, bustle, and overskirt. I think she's darling :).
Rose, I know we don't do filet crochet, but thought you might like to see this You Tube video. Now there's someone who can handle a hook. There are thousands of crochet videos on YouTube and I am sure tons for just about any hobby or craft you might have an interest in.. After browsing around some of those crochet videos, I am giving up on any thought of offering lessons :).
Have a terrific Sunday. Sue 7:55am
Saturday, February 7 - Good morning, good morning. Major hit at the Suncoast yesterday - $41,343 to a lucky, lucky player. Plus Suncoast paid out a $6,670 hotball at the 9pm session. T'was the hot spot of the day.
Here's a real cutie from Rag Lady - Little Miss Smarty Pants. She's not only cute and funny, she is very smart! Don't you just love dancing toddlers?
Okay, here's a list of February promotions for some of the rooms that do not have a web presence. I put them up rather quickly, but I think you'll be able to get around. Ones that have a webpage were listed Wednesday.
Arizona Charlie's Decatur
Arizona Charlie's Boulder
Plaza
Terrible's
Stations
Fiesta
The above will be up for only a short time. I like to help players with bingo information, but not too crazy about giving the bingo managers FREE advertising, so kind of caught in the middle. You would think they would pay my very reasonable fee to put their monthly promotions up on this site.
Okay bingo gang, go ahead and have an energized Saturday. After the chores are done, have FUN. Sue 8:09am
Friday, February 6 - Good morning, good morning. We see seven hotball hits with the high at the Suncoast for $4,258. AND Terrible's had a lucky player at the 7pm session who walked out with $10,000! Wow.
Here's the website on that million dollar retreat - if perchance you are interested, mention Rag Lady so she can get a small commission.
Hubby and I saw "Taken" yesterday. Don't want to spoil it for you, but it is a definite ACTION flick with a whole lot of..... well, you just have to see it unless you are into chick flicks. :). Have a great day. Sue 8:22am
Thursday, February 5 - Good morning, good morning. VBPs hit some mighty high hotball jackpots yesterday - $6,771 at Sam's; $6,045 at the Gold Coast; and $5,330 at Eastside Cannery. Way to go.
Sue Patton Thoele, a licensed psychotherapist and author of Freedom after 50, listed her top-10 list of aging's more subtle gifts. Here are two:
"We can act "disgracefully." To me, that's laughing uproariously in public, throwing your arms around a dear friend you haven't seen in a long time, using some spicy words to make your point. We're free to ignite the fiery part of ourselves."
"We can just say no. Period. "Being able to say that wonderfully assertive word without guilt, explanation, or remorse is to break free from the prison of obligation. At our age, we've certainly earned the privilege."
Have a wonderful day. Win if you play. Sis knows about my W.O.W. acronym (walk out winning) and when she was here she had her own - Lil (leave if losing). Sue 7:56am
Wednesday, February 4 - Good morning, good morning. Expected high today 70F. Isn't it wonderful?
The number of hotball hits on the low side at six, but two were over $4,000. Here are some progressives in the "hittable" range: Fiesta Rancho $13,009 Dual Daub at 36#'s; Terrible's 5pm $10,000 Dual Daub at 37#'s; Terrible's 7pm $10,000 Dual Daub at 38#'s; Fiesta Henderson $12,000 odd/even game at 55#'s; and Suncoast $40,131 odd/even game at 55#'s. Good Luck.
Here are links to some of the February promotions:
Cannery - Click on flyer for bigger picture
South Point - Cash Drawings on Wednesdays - having one today at the 1pm and 7pm sessions
Sam's Town - February giveways (Mystery Gift today)
A gal by the name of Susanne has a useful website named "Hillbilly Housewife" for low cost, home cooking from scratch. She has many frugal tips, needed in this day and age. We like hearing about ways to cut living expenses. Anymore out there?
A site called " Stimulus Watch" gives some interesting information and ways to interact with local officials on how to spend upcoming Federal money: "These projects are not part of the stimulus bill. They are candidates for funding by federal grant programs once the bill passes." Some, of course, are ridiculous.
Try to have a great day :). Sue 7:40am
Tuesday, February 3 - Good morning, good morning. Looks like Sam's Town players were on top of their game hitting two hotballs over $4,000. Good. Counted up 11 hotball hits not including Stations. Tracking the action there would take a little too much extra time for me. They do have the current hotballs posted on one page, so just a click away for the day's jackpots.
Sis is back in Paulden, Az. on her "farmette" as she calls it. Her house sits on two acres with a barn for her two horses and other assorted animals. She wants us to move next door and I keep telling her I'm not a country girl :).
Have a great day. Sue 8:38am
Monday, February 2 - Oh my. Surprise hit at the South Point. A lucky player hit the Dual Daub set at only 33 numbers for $37,861 and players scored $10,574 at the 1pm session's hotball. Way to go South Point players. Terrific. The second high hotball hit was way up there at $8,929 - that one for Sam's Town players. A dream progressive hit and 14 hotball hits made for a Super Sunday!
Dee sent in an interesting site for news junkies - go to Newseum. "Just put your mouse on a city anywhere in the world and the newspaper headlines pop up... Double click the orange dot and the page gets larger...Then you can either read the pdf version or click through to the paper itself in the upper right corner, "web site" tab." Thanks.
Just in case you haven't heard :) - Steelers won! Now if you go out to play today, hope you WIN. Sue 7:49am
Sunday, February 1 - Good morning, good morning. Terrific win at the Gold Coast - a lucky player hit the odd/even progressive coverall for $43,235 and it was set at only 53 numbers. Congratulations to the happy player. Hotball action was good with 11 hits, the high at the Plaza for $6,585. That's a goodie.
Here's an interesting picture of the inauguration where you can zoom in for close-ups. "For fun, focus on Obama (center stage) and then look behind him. There's Clarence Thomas seemingly asleep, Dick Cheney in his wheelchair, Clinton, Gore, Bush 41 and even Dan Quayle! Scalia is sitting there looking like the Grand Inquisitor. The clarity is amazing!"
open combination padlocks without tools, skills, or intelligence required!"
This video talks about the different forms of government: monarchy or dictatorship, oligarchy, democracy, republic, and anarchy. Interesting and clarifying.
Thank you Rag Lady for the above links.
"Super Bowl XLIII is on Sunday, Feb 1, 2009 - Kickoff time is 6:28pm EST." You know which team I'll be rooting for :)! Have a wonderful day. I plan on having one! Sue 7:18am
Saturday, January 31 - Good morning, good morning. Beautiful day out there. Bingo action was good, especially at the Suncoast. Stations website shows their cashballs progressing.
I am so happy my sister is here! And guess what. Today is Guitar Guys day which of course means my house is clean, extra clean :). I'm so happy! Sue 7:43am
Friday, January 30 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball activity better but still not great. Terrible's 7pm went to 38 numbers and Stations has their hotballs posted.
Major hurry today - sis and her hubby, Char and Terry, are coming in for a short visit. Want to get her birthday cake going among other things. You know how it is. The more you do, the more you find to do. You all have a great day and a great weekend. Will get caught up on e-mail soon. Bye. Sue 8:07am
Thursday, January 29 - Good morning, good morning. Boy, not much yesterday. Two rooms are not "updated" but otherwise only see three hotball hits. That's pretty low, isn't it?
From my sister - " Never underestimate an old woman" - this is a five star YouTube video of an very agile, elderly lady doing the salsa. Heard from a friend she is 87 years old. WOW. Also, another five star video from Rag Lady for the Moms out there - the lyrics are on the screen. Cute.
I'm a Sorry Sue today, for being late :). 10:00am
Wednesday, January 28 - Good morning, good morning. Around seven hotball hits with the high by far at Eastside Cannery for $5,609. We'll try to get address, e-mail today to fill-in Eastside Cannery under Bingo Rooms. That page needs some work.
Regarding the free vouchers, the bingo manager of the small casino involved wrote the following: "Sue, I had the site rebuilt because of some browser issues Seems to be working fine as of Sunday. If there are any people who went to the site, I would love to make good for them... I would ask anyone who did it without getting a response to try again. I will surely make good on it." RL, PCT, Jen, and me, let's try again.
Have a busy day scheduled. Doing good staying away. If you are lucky and get to play, hope you win a ton. Sue 7:10am
Tuesday, January 27 - Good morning, good morning. At least 11 hotball hits on Monday with the high at the South Point for $6,621. We'll take that. Couple of progressives went up a notch today.
Just a quote today from that same health magazine I mentioned the other day: "Happy people can enjoy their lives even when material conditions are lacking and many of their goals have not been reached... They do it by being open to different experiences and by constantly learning new things."
Have a good day and hopefully a day with a new adventure. Stop "hanging in" and start swinging :). Sue 8:05am
Monday, January 26 - Good morning, good morning. Well, a patient Poker Palace player won $28,565 yesterday - finally. The jackpot had been sitting at 36 numbers for about a month, so one just never knows. We've seen them hit quick and then not so quick. Good for the winner. Players at Arizona Charlie's on Decatur hit a high hotball at the 9pm session for $8,806 and South Point players hit a $4,029 hotball at the 7pm session. Good for you guys.
Though Sam's Town is showing hotballs for all eight sessions on their website and on the hotline, I am sure the 9am-5pm sessions are only for players in the $100,000 Bingo Bash. I know this for sure because Rose's sister, Louise, is in town and going to be playing the bash at Sam's. Good luck Louise.
There must be some kind of an office problem with those two free $25 bingo vouchers since I know three people, including ME, that filled out the little on-line form but did not receive the vouchers. Anymore out there? Let me know if you filled out the form, received an e-mail confirmation, but did not receive the vouchers in the mail. I'll see what I can do.
Here's a little game from RL: find the nude dude. Took me a while :). Have a smiley Monday. Sue 6:46am
Sunday, January 25 - Good morning, good morning. Thirteen hotball hits, not bad. High was at South Point for $3,090.
I did put up Stations' flyer, but quality is not great. Hope you can make out.
Both Dee and Rag Lady sent in links to "puppy vs. mirror" - one is a frisky Rambo and the other is a kisser Zoey. Frisky Rambo is on a sedative compared to Mattie, the bird dog :).
Have a wonderful day. Sue 8:33am
Saturday, January 24 - Good morning, good morning. We see at least 11 hotball hits for yesterday with the high at Sam's Town for $5,860. Little Poker Palace must be getting decent traffic with two hotball hits and a 36 number Dual Daub hanging there since at least the first of the year. I put last year's printouts of bingoupdate in the garage :) so not sure when the pot went to 36 numbers but had to be sometime toward the end of December :).
From a visitor: "I was at Texas station last night (9pm) when a lucky visitor turned her $1 into over $119,000 on the jumbo bingo jackpot. She bought one paper card and hit on the 53rd number. The XPC (extra play cash) given to all players was $12 per card purchased..." Apparently some players didn't realize that the XPC was a flat $25,000 and expected more. However, I personally think the change was for the better, the winner getting $119,000 instead of $50,000 and players getting $12 XPC instead of the old minimum of $25.
We had an overnight visitor who slept in the middle of our bed last night. Yep,it was Mattie the bird dog. That puppy, about 4 months old, is one high energy pup. Couldn't work on my crochet project with that nutty dog jumping and bouncing and chewing (especially likes my yarn) until bed time. Funny, how muuch we like her anyway :).
We did hear from Stations and there is going to be a change to the hotballs. I have a flyer which I'll put up tomorrow. Have a good one. Sue 8:30am
Friday, January 23 - An extremely lucky VBP was at the right place, at the right time, with the right card and won an amazing $119,241 at one of the Station bingo rooms! Now that's some win. And we counted up 16 hotball hits all around the valley making for an extra good bingo day. Terrific bingo day. Good for you guys.
Dot sent the following: "Has anyone sent you information about Station Casinos switching back to the old cashballs? I guess the Million $ deal is going away January 30." This is the first we heard - any confirmation out there?
Still reeling from thinking about a win over a hundred grand. For those of us that can only dream about that kind of money, we should try to remember to focus on the little things, to stay in tune with whatever we are doing, even simple routine activities. From a health magazine: "Being in the moment can help you find true satisfaction in life."
The weekend begins and though the Jumbo is gone, still lots of decent bingo money out there. Play smart and be "in the moment." Sue 7:47am
Thursday, January 22 - Good morning, good morning. Action was sunny at the Suncoast where players hit the hotball jackpot three times in a row including the high and second high of the day: $5,048 and $3,705. Good going.
For wannabe entrepreneurs, the View section RJ had an article on the Women's Business Center and NMI which offers help for a start-up business. From what I can see, you can take a 4-week on-line course for $49 through NMI. However, the SBA offers, self-paced, on-line courses for free.
Speaking of free, you can take a free personality test, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator at a number of sites including this one. I took the test and I am supposedly an introvert. Hmmm, I always thought I was rather extroverted.
Have a super duper day and if you get to go out to play, have fun. I know, the most fun is a WIN. Sue 8:18am
Wednesday, January 21 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up 11 hotball hits with a mega hit at the Gold Coast for $8,597 at the 9pm session. Suncoast players hit the gold ring three times including the second high at the 9pm session for $4,820.
When I was at Aliante Library the other day, a small ad was stuck between the DVD's I checked out. There's going to be be a shopping expo and craft show at the library on Saturday from 9am to 2pm. The reason I found this interesting is because the crafters are apparently a small group of Las Vegans who have a social/network club. Go to either MeetUp or WAHM if you are a crafter and a "work at home mom", though I suspect any crafter/small business owner would probably be welcomed. MeetUp says "Welcome to our Meet up Group as we are a group of business owners from homemade crafts, unique gifts, direct sales, small business and more."
Oh, oh. Slept in so pretty late today. Sorry. Sue 9:30am
Tuesday, January 20 - Good morning, good morning. Major improvement yesterday with two of at least 10 hotball hits over eight grand: $8,968 at the South Point and $8,193 at Sam's Town. Stations went up a notch today and the $10,000 at Terrible's 7pm went to 37 numbers.
Dee sent in a mural mosaic and if you click on one of the squares, you'll see more. "Each tile is 1 foot square, is it's own individual picture and each is by a different artist. All of them together form this huge mural. You can click on each of the tiles to see them in detail." Rose, Charlie might like to see this one. Reminds me of a picture my uncle gave me that it is our guest room. It is a hummingbird created with flowers by artist Don Stewart. Fascinating.
Here's one of those security tips that most of us say; "wow, good idea," but probably won't do. "Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies" Maybe get an extra car keyless remote for that purpose?
Here's a video of a "bad ass" police dog - the second segment is of a man shooting at the police and watch how fast the dog is. Can't tell if any are actual crimes or training events, but pretty amazing nonetheless.
Thanks contributors. And to all, have a great day. Sue 7:58am
Monday, January 19 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday would have been a real stinky bingo day, but there were two out of the measly five hits that pulled it out of the dregs - $6,405 at the Plaza and $2,536 at Fiesta Henderson. Players, today has got to be better?
MLK day, imagine banks and government offices will be closed.
Jen, want to thank you again about going to the library for DVD's instead of Hollywood Video. I went to my closest, the Aliante library, the other day and signed up there since it is a City of North Las Vegas library. They apparently have the same procedure as a Clark County library (25¢ late fee), so again thanks.
Just in case you are behind in football news, the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!. Arizona Cardinals, start praying :). It's a Monday, smile. Sue 8:17am
Sunday, January 18 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday was a great bingo day with at least 15 hotball hits and another $10,000 winner at Terrible's. You guys are good.
Dee sent in an e-mail about http and https, the "s" stands for secure. "If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://. If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card number." As always, we need to be careful.
Bad Brad of Silver Nugget said there is a small group called BingoLasVegas on Facebook if you are interested in a bingo network.
Long time regulars know that some time ago, I had my cell phone in my robe pocket when I tossed the robe into the washing machine. It was a fancy thing and after failed attempts to revive the little devil by drying it out, etc., I went to the ATT store to find out that a replacement was going to be like $180. Upon my look of horror, the guy said, "look, you're a good customer and I'm going to tell you what to do." The advice was to pick up an ATT pay-as-you-go phone at Walmart for about $50 and put my SIMM card in that phone. Which I did. Well, I won't admit to the number of times I again tossed my robe with my cell phone in the pocket into the washing machine, but I am now using a $10 ATT pay-as-you-go phone and have another $10 backup phone just in case. So I pass my stupid story along, in case your cell phone becomes water logged. (Just make sure you get a pay-as-you-go phone that is compatible with your provider.)
An e-mail from Louise in part: "Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment."
Have a great day. GO PITTSBURGH!!! Sue 8:35am
Saturday, January 17 - Good morning, good morning. Surprise hit at Fiesta Henderson occurred either Thursday or Friday for either $11,600 or $11,700 on the odd/even game for either 54 or 55 numbers. Didn't have the update from Fiesta Henderson yesterday morning, so not sure exactly what happened. Good for the winner in any event.
A little info if you are getting rid of an old t.v. Republic Services won't pick up any t.v.'s left curb-side. The company treats t.v.;s as hazardous household waste which means you have to take them to one of two places: The recycling center at 333 W. Gowan or its Henderson transfer station at 560 Cape Horn Drive.
There are a couple of popular social connection websites out there - specifically Facebook and MySpace. Another up and coming similar site is Bebo. Not my thing, but thought I'd mention for any who might be interested. Also, Jim Miller wrote an article in the RJ titled "Blogging is great pastime for Web savvy seniors." The link is to one of the newspapers that reprinted the article.
Bingo savvy seniors, have a great day! Sue 8:12am
Friday, January 16 - Good morning, good morning. Counted up only eight hotball hits, but three rooms were not updated on Bingo Bugle's hotline, so action was probably better. There were several hits that made the day for lucky players; $4,386 at the Suncoast and $3,852 at the South Point. Little Poker Palace is heating up with a 36 number Dual Daub more than two weeks old.
Fron RL: "VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TEXTERS! This lady changed how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I replied a little while ago.' So then the robber had access to bank money. I don't "text", don't know all those popular acronyms, so doesn't apply to me. But it is another situation where the bad people get the upper hand and where good people have to be AWARE be and careful.
You might want to avoid those snack peanut butter crackers for a while (hubby munches on those a lot). "Concerns over consumer exposure to salmonella intensified Thursday, a day after Kellogg Co. asked stores to stop selling its peanut butter sandwich crackers until the food maker can figure out if the peanut paste is contaminated."
That's a wrap for today. WIN if you go out to play, but that's only half the battle. The other half is walking out winning - go ahead and WOW those casino bosses. Sue 6:25am
Thursday, January 15 - Oh my - two progressives hit yesterday and at least 14 hotballs. Terrible's paid out another one of those $10,000 jackpots and a player at Sam's Town hit the Even Bettor on the early side set at 54#'s for a wonderful win of $31,514. Good going guys!
Had some tech problems this morning and the program is still giving me fits. Signing off and hope to be on the chatty side tomorrow. Sue 9:05am
Wednesday, January 14 - Good morning, good morning. Players at the Eastside Cannery had a spectacular day! Someone won the progressive jackpot for a whopping $38,586 on the first day at 36 numbers. Eastside Cannery players also hit the hotball three sessions in a row including the high for the day at $4,349. Good for you bingo players.
For music lovers and particularly those that haven't been able to part with their old cassettes, Fradee sent in instructions on converting audio cassettes onto your computer: "Windows Movie Maker does a good job capturing analog recordings and converting them to digital recordings". Thanks. Sounds like one of those big projects to me. Right now I am fooling around with years of pictures, scanning most into my computer and parting with some. That will take a long, long time to finish.
Have a terrific day. Be good, do good. Sue 8:22am
Tuesday, January 13 - Good morning, good morning. Nine hits with three goodies at the Eastside Cannery (dual daub went to 36#'s today) and the high at Sam's Town for $5,629. Eight hits were over $2000 making for a high payout day.
Regarding the bailout, the public has been invited to "to post their own questions, make their own suggestions, and share their personal stories through the Panel's website at www.cop.senate.gov. I did send in my remarks about the mess and did receive a response. However, as you might imagine, the response letter is canned. In part, "We are approaching the work ahead of us with great urgency and seriousness. We will do our best to ensure that the Treasury Department uses TARP funds in an accountable and responsible manner and that reforms to the financial regulatory system are adopted in a way that serves the best interests of the American public. Thank you for your contribution to this effort." It may make you feel better to send in your two cents :).
Running late, time to say toodle-loo and have a lucky day. Sue 8:25am
Yeah Doris, you just go ahead and buy that $1500 Gucci purse to fit in with our retreat in that million dollar mansion :).
Monday, January 12 - Good morning, good morning. Counted 12 hotball hits with the serious action at the Suncoast - $8,137 and $4,340.
Great hits.
If you are still in a "do-over-self" mode, came across an article about Barbara Jo Batterman, a professional make-up artist. She got raves for creating beautiful, age defying, end results, e.g., "I feel so pretty." She charges $125 for clients who go to her and $350 for house calls. Hey Doris, maybe when we rent that luxury Tuscan retreat, we can have Barbara Jo stop by and make us up? Like that's going to happen :).
Since being a Monday morning is heavy enough, we will keep it light. Yes, Christmas is well over, but my brother Ken wrote the following in my Christmas card and I'm just getting around to sharing. He said: Sing to the tune of Jingle Bells -
Bingo Bag
Bingo Bag
Bingo all the Way
Oh What Fun it is to play
Bingo Every Day!
I haven't had the heart to tell him that I haven't played bingo in ages :). Which reminds, please send in bingo news. Smile, smile. Sue 6:55am
GO STEELERS! You made me proud.
Sunday, January 11 - Good morning, good morning. Big one yesterday. On South Point's website: "LUCKY LOCAL BARBARA WON THE DUAL ACTION COVERALL FOR $68,429 IN 36 #'S AT THE 11 AM SESSION ON SATURDAY, JAN. 10TH." And Terrible's had another $10,000 winner yesterday. Plus 11 hotball hits with the high at South Point for $7,314. What a day. Congratulations to the big winners
Did you take a gander at the full moon last night? I did. Looked like it was going to fall into our backyard.
I'm going to give a plug for Buckingham Smokehouse Bar-B-Q on Smoke Ranch and Rainbow. We stopped in the other day for our favorite, pulled pork sandwich for $7.99 and you get two sides. I got my usual, sweet potato french fries (just bought a bag of frozen ones) and pit beans. It is one heckuva good sandwich.
Speaking of potatoes, thank you Doris for the Baked Potato Bag you sent to me. Haven't had a chance to use yet, but Doris says that using the bag in the microwave gives you a "just right" baked potato. Thanks again.
Belated birthday wishes to our German friend, Tina. She turned 22 on Elvis Presley's birthday. Tina, please e-mail me your address in Kiel.
Voting going on for the "New 7 Wonders of Nature" - for a list of nominees, go to the website. Wonder if the Grand Canyon will be a Wonder.
Have a Happy Sunday. Sue 7:50am
I know, Pittsburgh is playing today :).
Saturday, January 10 - Good morning, good morning. Players had a decent bingo day with about 12 hits, the high at Eastside Cannery for $4,729, second high at Terrible's for $4,102. South Point's bingo room is getting traffic :).
Rag Lady has a friend who is renting out - "The 'Million Dollar Tuscan Retreat' custom home features every fine appointment you desire in a “Luxury Vacation Home Rental” in the heart of Las Vegas, yet only 10 minutes to the Fabulous Las Vegas Strip, Convention Centers and Airport. Totally Private Acre Estate features over 5400 sq. ft. of Single Story Living Space (8,000 sq. ft. under roof), 4 Spectacular Bedroom Suites, 6 Bathrooms, 4 Car Garage and RV Parking. There are pictures at the Kodak Gallery. Wow. If anyone is interested, I will pass your e-mail on to Rag Lady.
And I had the most pleasant surprise in the mail from Jen who took the time to show me how to avoid paying a "late fee" on a movie rental: Here it is. After reading your post about the late fees you incurred on your movies I couldn't help but respond. The Clark County library has a great selection (new releases and older ones as well) of DVD and VHS movies available to check out for free. All you need is a library card (they're free). You can check out up to 7 movies (per card) at once and you get to keep them for 7 days. If they're late the fee is 25 cents per item per day. You can search for movie titles online, reserve them, and the library will send you an email letting you know when you're movie is ready to be picked up. They will pull the movie off the shelf for you and have it waiting on a reserve shelf in an envelope with your name on it. My husband and I absolutely love their system, we haven't paid to rent a movie for the last 5 years! I don't know if you have a library branch close to you or how often you watch movies but keep them in mind next time you're ready to watch a movie:)
Boy, am I glad you did respond. What a sweetheart.
Pittsburgh is playing today! You know what I'll be doing. What will you be doing? Whatever your choice may be, enjoy. Sue 8:22am
Whoops! Pittsbugh is playing tomorrow, but I'll be watching the other playoffs today :). 9:15am
Friday, January 9 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball activity dropped with a thud EXCEPT at the South Point where players hit $7,899 and $4,528! Oh, Mama Mia.
BTW, saw the movie Mama Mia! the other day - its praise is very, very well-deserved. (Too bad the show ended on the Strip.) On a down note, I was a day late returning the movie and had to pay for another 5 day rental. Bit steep for being late though the clerk said they don't call it a late charge, rather a re-renting. My fault though so had to cough up the penalty and swallow my annoyance. All right, I'll admit I had rented a total of four movies, so had to "re-rent" all four at a cost of $17 something and my annoyance (with Hollywood and myself) is not 100% gone, but getting there :).
From Rag Lady - " A motorcycle jump at the Arch De Triumphe at the Paris Hotel-Casino in Vegas on New Years Eve. The structure is ten stories tall." Robbie Madison, all I can say is "are you crazy?"
You all be careful, in or out of a casino :). Sue 8:00am
Thursday, January 8 - WOW! 21 hotball hits yesterday. WOW. What an amazing bingo day for the world's greatest players.
From a visitor: "REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public next month. REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. .... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number."
Here's a picture of that "skier at Colorado's ritzy Vail resort [who] was left dangling upside down and pantsless from a chairlift." Geez.
Have a great day. For yesterday's winners, hold onto that money for a bit :). Sue 8:25am
Wednesday, January 7 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo action slow yesterday with about six hotball hits, the high at South Point for $2,945. With the Dual Daub at 36 numbers and some mighty high hotball jackpots, that would be my choice if I lived on the south side of town and IF I was playing :). Rose, you don't live too far from the South Point.
We certainly got some responses about the "regular" program at Stations. From visitor we will call "Danger" - "There are currently 14 games in the stations bingo program, 2 of which (jumbo and Big 3) are optional, and the mini-x is free and included with everyone's buy-in."
From a Stations' bingo manager: "With Big3 going alone on Game 3, all other games shifted down one. Our coverall is now on Game 14. We have replaced the Double Action that people used to pay $1 for with a FREE game. The number of "regular games" have not decreased. I hope this helps."
From the Big Gun: "All Station Properties are the same as far as the game schedule. We made Big 3 stand alone as a game, took out a game, "Double Action" that costs a $1 and replaced it with a free game "Mini X" and put Jumbo back the way it used to be as the largest progressive in town." And "Yes we still have the $125,000 countdown that isn't linked and is a lot higher than anyone else's I might add!"
So there you have it.
Going in another direction, and on the heavy side, I would like to share a quote from Steven Kalas who writes a column for the RJ: "To live honorably, we stand with dignity next to all of the consequences of all of our choices, even the consequences we neither expected nor intended."
Okay, have a great day. Sue 8:02am
Tuesday, January 6 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo action improved. Terrible's paid out the Bonus Coverall for $16,666 to a lucky winner. Took a while though since that game had been set at 52 numbers for a month. Eleven hotball hits with several "up-there" amounts. Good. Just a note, a Fiesta Henderson agent again indicated on the hotline that the Grandé is in the $15,000 range which seems incongruous.
A visitor wrote in that Stations has reduced the number of regular games thus: "regular program of 12 Games is now reduced to 9 Games....
Game 1 (Jumbo); Game 3 (Big 3) and Game 7 (Mini X) are all separate games from the regular program." Any comments out there? Is this the same at all Station bingo rooms? Do they still have the Countdown?
Good luck. Sue 8:24am
Monday, January 5 - A happy, and good Monday morning to you. Looks like about 9 hotball hits with the high at the Gold Coast for $4,758. Eastside Cannery players snagged a $3,055 jackpot. Good hits. Oh, Fiesta Henderson indicated on the hotline that the Grandé was $15,600 today - pretty sure that was a booboo and that the correct amount is $10,600.
From Rag Lady, we have a true story about "perception" - Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world, played one of the most intricate pieces ever written with a violin worth 3.5 million dollars incognito at a Washington, D.C. metro. Not surprising, few stopped to listen and only one person recognized him. The story ends with: "If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?"
Here's a heart-tugger. Homelesspartners.com where a number of homeless men posted what they would have liked for Christmas. Once you are at the home page, if you click on Las Vegas, the only shelter listed is U.S. Vets on Bonanza. But click on that, be patient during "loading information", and you will see a list of men who REALLY need a helping hand. Even now I am sure that most if not all could still use bus tickets, phone cards, etc. One idea, Walmart had pay-as-you-go phones for $10. Anyway, a consideration for helping out.
If you play machines today, take control, no auto pilot. Good luck and smile. Sue 7:55am
Sunday, January 4 - Good morning, good morning. We saw at least 10 hotball hits with the high at Sam's Town for $2,790. Of course, we don't know what kind of hotball aka cashball action goes on at the six Station bingo rooms. Hopefully, players are holding their own :).
Today another NFL day for me, playoffs started. If you do go out to play, make sure you walk out with a win. Sue 8:10am
Saturday, January 3 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo action was a little light yesterday with about 8 hits but a terrific high at the South Point for $5,796.
Here are links to some of the January specials:
Eastside Cannery - (if you click on the flyer, you'll get an easier to read view)
That's all I have folks. You have a lucky day! Sue 8:57am
Friday, January 2 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo action was around an "average" range with at least 10 hotball hits, the high at Arizona Charlie's Decatur at $2,629 and second high at Sam's Town for $2,623. Poker Palace and South Point have their Dual Daub progressives at 36 numbers. Just never know.
We were invited to a NYE's party at Texas and enjoyed the food and music very much. I was carrying around a Bingo Bugle and wouldn't you know I left it on the table when we headed home. So, I don't know the specials for this month. Yet. Any help you can provide will be appreciated :). We did hear from Silver Nugget and a special game this Saturday was cancelled but they will have "$1,000 Coveralls Any Color all Day."
We do want to mention that we are glad that Stations changed from progressing the amount of XPC to progressing the amount for the winner of the Jumbo. Good change for the players I think, certainly for the winner.
Saw "The Day the Earth Stood Still" yesterday and as much as I like Keanu Reeves have to admit it wasn't a very good movie. But we had our first IMAX experience which was good.
Are we into resolutions today? Good luck :). Sue 7:25am
Thursday, January 1, 2009 - Las Vegas Bingo Players ended the year with a big bang hitting hotball jackpots at least 19 times! Way to go champs.
Rose and I thank you for sending in "Happy New Year" to us. We wish all of you the same and much good luck! Sue 7:59am
Wednesday, December 31 - Good morning, good morning. Hotball action on the light side, but the Grandé went into the hands of a lucky Fiesta Henderson player. Took a while, from December 4 at 56 numbers, but it is a small, paper only room.
Plenty of bingo action tonight! Probably all rooms have some kind of a special or at least a celebration. For example, Fiesta Rancho announced on the hotline, a $30 buy-in at 11pm, games pay $300, coverall $2009, and second chance coverall $1000, additional packs $10.
One of our visitors took advantage of the two free $25 vouchers and let us know she she bingoed twice yesterday - good for you.
Party-time. BIG TIME PARTY TIME! Have a ball. Sue 7:50am
