Friday, May 16 - Good morning, good morning. Quite a number of hotball hits yesterday with 12 popping out of the hopper at the right time. However, the amounts were not particularly staggering and little Poker Palace led the pack with a hit for $1,964. Good for you.
In case you missed this one, here's a repeat of the funny gaffe by an anchor man. I think it's soooo funny. I hope your entire day is filled with fun. Sue 8:15am
Thursday, May 15 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo players hit the hotball at least ten times yesterday with the high at Sam's Town for $3,452. Sam's and the Coast Casinos are having Mega Bingo on Monday and Tuesday. If interested, their website has more info. Little Eldorado in Henderson has a $7.00 Rainbow special this month, validation included, all session Tuesdays thru Fridays.
Did you catch that I missed 6 zeroes yesterday? Those amounts were in the millions - $180 mil and over $90 mil :).
Serious side: Burma, slightly smaller than the size of Texas, is dealing with the horrible effects of Cyclone Nargis with a paranoid, inept government. The last death toll count was over 38,500 and nearly 28,000 missing. Our own 2005 disaster, Hurricane Katrina, took 1,836 lives. Our government was severely criticized for its "slow" response and the billions and billions, somewhere around 200 billion, the government spent on aid, repairs, and reconstruction did not appease the critics. But I am sure even the loudest critic is glad to be here and not Burma, or any other country for that matter.
My heart goes out to the Burmese people and to the victim's of China's 5/12 earthquake where the unofficial death toll is over 15,000 with many more missing. These tragedies are so out of proportion to our daily lives, it becomes difficult to comprehend the depth of sorrow, loss, and fear circling the survivors.
Sue 7:56am
Wednesday, May 14 - Good morning, good morning. We had two hot spots in Bingoland yesterday - Gold Coast and Sam's Town. Gold Coast players snagged two juicy jackpots - $5,987 and $6,044; players at Sam's caught three hotball jackpots including one for $4,328 (assuming my hearing is still intact).
If you go to this great "green" site - MyGreenElectronics - put in your zip code, you will find places that accept your old electronics. For instance, I put in my zip code, 89031, and one of the places that accepts all kinds of electronic equipment regardless of age or condition is the Blind Center of Nevada. Good idea Mr. Green.
Well, again, since my sleeping pattern has been completely disrupted, I'm on the late side. I have not been "out and about" but rather working on another project and staying up way too late. Excuses, excuses, huh?
Last week, Rose told me a Texan hit megabucks at the Palms. Then we have a "Paul & Sue" (not us) winning $180,000, and another dude winning $90,000. What a week! Good luck to you and be happy if you just get to walk out winning. Wow. Sue 9:14am
Tuesday, May 13 - Good morning, good morning. Did you notice the action at the 7pm sessions? Out of ten hotball hits, six happened at that session - good going.
I've been working on the "Living in Vegas" page and have tried to format that section in a more useful way. Have a few more links to add and a few more changes. One of the new categories is for seniors who want to network with other seniors. I found the sites pretty interesting and I noticed that Eldr.com is looking for someone to write movie reviews. Interested PCT?
On a totally different matter, it is pretty much common knowledge that the Nevada casinos have a much lower tax rate than casinos doing business in other states and that the Nevada State Education Association has a petition before the courts to reduce the taxpayers' generosity currently enjoyed by the casinos. I am behind on the news, but I think this AP article, Nev. Judge Preserves Casino Tax Petition, is the latest on this hot topic. Personally, I believe the casinos should pony up more money. The proposed 3% would mean an increase "from 6.75 percent to 9.75 percent, which association President Lynne Warne said still is one of the lowest rates in the world." I think I read somewhere a while back that the tax in Illinois is over 20%. Is that a good recall?
Still checking e-mail, but I have made some progress. You have a great day. Here's a quote from Abe Lincoln to help you on your way: "I never had a policy; I have just tried to do my very best each and every day." Sue 7:57am
Monday, May 12 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player hit the $10,000 at Terrible's 9pm session last night. How sweet it can be. Only about 7 hotball hits but a giant hit at the Suncoast for $9,784 and a great second high at the Silver Nugget for $3,266. Good for the winners.
Bingo gang, I slept in again, had a wonderfully lazy day yesterday. I'll get back in the saddle today and get caught up with e-mail. Oh, forgot to mention that we had over 105,000 hits in April. Thank you! Smile, it's a Monday. Sue 9:20am
Sunday, May 11 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday's hot spot was Sam's Town where players snagged two hotball jackpots over $7,000. Nice going.
Mothers, enjoy your extra special day. Really savor the attention :). Sue 9:10am
Sunday, May 11 - I'm going to be late this morning . I hope to have the jackpot info up by 9:30am. If you check back, you may need to hit your refresh button. Sue 8:35am
Saturday, May 10 - Good morning, good morning. Another decent day in Las Vegas Bingoland with 13 hotball hits and a high of $9,195 at the South Point. The next high hit was at Terrible's for $3,757 and the two Arizona Charlie's were busy paying out 7 hotball jackpots. Wow.
Tomorrow, Mother's Day, Sam's Town is giving away a Vase to their bingo players. The Gold Coast and the Suncoast are giving away a Heart Shaped Silver Plated Measuring Spoon Set. The South Point is giving away trivets. Get a Manicure Set at Terrible's and a litte stuffed Mama Bear at Stations. The standard minimum buy-in and while supplies last applies to all.
If you are thinking of selling your car, Rag Lady sent in PriceHub which would be a useful site along with the Kelly Blue Book.
I received a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers, with a vase and a small box of chocolates. The chocolates didn't make it. Thank you darling son. Oh, did you catch that funny on Jay Leno where he showed an ad by a florist who was selling mixed "bokays." When something is that bad, you have to wonder if it was intentional :).
Have a wonderful winning day. Sue 8:10am
Friday, May 9 - Good morning, good morning. Counted 15 hotball hits yesterday with the high at the South Point for $4,019 making for a Grade A bingo day. Way to go and do it again.
A visitor let us know that the Silver Nugget's bonanza game is also played at the Sunday 1pm session which we did not have listed until now. We appreciate corrections and interactions from our visitors, goes a long way to keeping the site "updated."
The following request for your opinion/interaction was also in our mailbox: "What do think of a husband/wife playing bingo during the spouses working shift ? (Example - the wife is a bingo agent working the 7PM session - should the casino allow the spouse to play during that session - I know Stations, Cannery and Sam's Town allow this, while Terrible's does not.... Opinions ?"
Noticed in the Bingo Bugle that Gail has a bustrip for a "Bingo Bash Getaway to California" on May 17th for $60 (games pay $1,199). If you could use a change of pace from Vegas Bingo, might want to call 702-756-0937. Also noticed in the Bugle that a non-business can place up to 5 classified ads for free. The downside is that the ad(s) have to be submitted by the 15th of the month and won't be published until the 1st of the following month (the next issue).
Okay, it's a Friday, a day for fun. Speaking of fun, how about a bobblehead like Betty Boop or maybe a yo-yo or a paddle ball? Go ahead, play a little and laugh a lot. Sue 7:30am
Thursday, May 8 - Sizzled indeed did the Cannery do. A very lucky player hit $74,418 on the Dual Daub jackpot set at 36 numbers at the 4pm session yesterday! Good for you. A little birdie told us that the winner is a bingo agent (at another casino of course) and no gripping griping since they are players too. We have also heard a couple of times now that when an agent hits a big one, they apparently have an unwritten law that the tip is 10%. Bet the agents at the Cannery were happy about that. Wow.
I thought I would leave yesterday's table up on the first page and highlight the hits. This makes it pretty easy to see yesterday's action when the hits are highlighted. I am able to print out the page with both tables but the downside is more ink. Do you like having both tables up on the first page? Would you rather I set yesterday's table up on a separate page thus saving ink but being less convenient? Or should I just stay with the current day and forget about the day before as we've been doing for a long time? It does take a little extra time to do the highlights, but if you like the idea, I can do. Also, please remember that I cannot always understand the amounts given by the agents on the hotline and that sometimes the agents make a mistake. I just do the best I can :).
Here's a cutie from Rag Lady - a dancing walrus on You Tube. Something else. She also sent a reminder to use certain gift cards quickly, before the business goes belly up - see Truth or Fiction for a list of troubled companies.
I'm sure you've heard of three coins in a fountain. Here's quirkiness about the Trevi Fountain: "Lucky coin throwing ......Among those who are unaware that the "three coins" were thrown by three different individuals, a reported current legend is that it is lucky to throw coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain. The legend of the coin throwing is actually that if you throw one coin, you are ensured a return to yourself; two coins to get married; and three to get divorced!"
Best of luck and best wishes to you. Have a great day. Sue 6:40am
Wednesday, May 7 - Good morning, good morning. The Cannery was hot yesterday with three high hotball hits, which took the first, second, and third highs of the day. But the $74,000+ is around for at least another session and the question is will the Cannery sizzle today?
Another hot spot is Terrible's 9pm which went to 38 numbers today. Ten grand would certainly help out, wouldn't it?
A "DUH" moment from Rag Lady: "I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, "Press here to lock end". Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up. I'm sharing this with my friends that did not know this. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this."
I'm taking the Fifth on that. No, I'm not talking about drinking a fifth.
When I was stumbling around the net the other day, came across a site that said that if you carry a penny minted in your year of birth, it would bring good luck. (Can't find the site right now or I would link it.). So there's another penny story. I've been trying to come up with a little holder/pocket/pouch idea for the birth penny and "found" pennies. Whadda you think?
In fairness to "good luck," here's something on the flip side that maybe someday you might want to use (not on a person, but perhaps a big corporate casino?). From Wikipedia: "To put a Kahuna on someone or something is to curse it with bad luck. This is perhaps derived from its etymological roots of sorcerer or wizard."
Have a great day. Sue 7:58am
Tuesday, May 6 - OMGosh, a very lucky player won the $56,035 dual daub jackpot at the South Point yesterday. Toot, toot; hooray, hooray; and wow, wow. A little surprising though is that the jackpot not only hit the first day it was set at 36 numbers (5/5), but that last time the dual daub hit at the South Point was for $57,037 on 4/6, also the first day the jackpot was set at 36 numbers. Who knows though what will happen the next time? In addition to the terrific hit at the South Point, the rest of yesterday's bingo story is not bad at all; counted 14 hotballs popping out at the right time with payouts as high as $6,276 and as low as $746.
Today, Sam's Town has a Mystery Gift for their bingo players. Plaza is giving a free Viva Las Vegas show ticket with a $25 bingo purchase (don't know the restrictions if any on that promo).
Yesterday, being riled up, I made a suggestion that someone start a website to capture TSA's stupidity. Son informs me that Stupid Security is around but I think the site should highlight a lot more stupid TSA incidents. Okay, okay, I'll let it go.
In the news: "The owner of Tropicana casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, nearly five months after New Jersey regulators stripped the Tropicana Casino and Resort of its license." No comment.
Here's a swell one from Boxcar: "About that $3 price you mentioned for Jeff Lombardo's wall hanger? It's $2.99 for TWO. Even better!" Thanks for pointing that out, no pun intended :). I think it's easier to send this guy a check via snail mail then bother with Pay Pay for such a small amount.
" See a penny, pick it up; all day long you will have good luck." Well here's a little story about this superstition. In a local casino, some guy and I were walking nearly together when he stopped to picked up a penny. He looked so pleased until I told him I was convinced, based on the frequency I found pennies at that casino, always heads up, that they were PLANTED. He cocked his head a little and in a moment said I was probably right. Wouldn't that be low if it is true that casinos do something like planting pennies?
All right, this has been a full morning. Hope you all have a great day and think twice before picking up a penny in a casino. I'm not saying not to pick it up, I doubt that I could pass, but just beware :) :) :). Sue 7:50am
Monday, May 5 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday was fair to middlin' with about eight (8) hotball hits, the high at Sam's for $2,945. Oh, Rose was at the South Point when that $21,000+ jackpot hit, but she wasn't one of the seven (7) lucky ones.
Rag Lady sent an e-mail about the Emma Maersk so I did a little research on the world's largest containership recently launched - see T elstar Logistics for more info about this modern marvel.
Rag Lady also sent e-mail about police officers: in part, OUR HERO POLICE OFFICERS RISK THEIR LIVES EVERY DAY TO PROTECT AND SERVE US. AND THEY ARE SUBJECTED TO STRESSES, PRESSURES, AND DANGERS THAT FEW OF US COULD EVEN IMAGINE." I am a firm believer that we should always respect and show respect to police officers.
Remember Susie's story about having her daubers confiscated by airport security. Well, it riled me up as so many similarly stupid stories have. I even got to thinking that someone should have a website with a domain name like "TSA Stupidities." Haven't we all heard stories about patting down 80 yr. old ladies, taking Sprite from a soldier, making a woman pull out with pliers her nipple ring, etc.? Even though I discovered that TSA itself invites your story for their blog (HA), I still think an outside blog would be a worthy pursuit. To get it going, research newspapers for past incidents, plenty of them. All right, I'm done now.
Oh my, this is a Monday isn't it? Well, please do SMILE. Sue 8:28am
.
Sunday, May 4 - Good morning, good morning. The top bingo news story is the $21,814 hit at the South Point's 7pm session yesterday. W.O.W. Good going.
For tomorrow, the Gold Coast is having five (5) $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm & 7pm sessions and the Suncoast is having five (5) $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm and 9pm sessions. Boulder is having three (3) $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm and 7pm sessions. South Point is having five (5) $1,000 coveralls at the 1pm and 7pm sessions. Today, at Texas, single winners get a reed diffusser.
Don't know why, but the Breast Cancer site (see "flash" on left column) is taking way too long to open. We'll check on that for a fix. We also noted that the links for a couple of websites on our "Gambling in Vegas" page are down/broken. We'll get around to checking more soon.
Are you the next phenom, that is with a ball? If so, you could win $30,000 if you have a video of your phenomenal, ball handling skills. Read all about it at this page on You Tube - Tiger and Roger look good, don't they?
Rag Lady has been a true jewel in sending in so many interesting websites. Let's give her a great big hand -
Have a wonderful day, get lucky if you play. Sue 7:38
Saturday, May 3 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo payouts improved a little yesterday with at least 12 hotball hits though the high was only $2,456 at Fiesta Rancho. Silver Nugget just started their new program regarding hotball/cashball jackpots: (previously posted) "We are starting new Progressive Money Balls where the house always adds all profits to the next days money ball. This way the house never wins (unheard of). We are starting all of them off at $1,500 on May 1......" The increase in the amount in just one day is pretty staggering and great news for VBPs. The increases at little Silver Nugget certainly give an idea of how much the big rooms must rake it. My, my, my. Hats off to Silver Nugget.
There was an RJ article on this Pahrump man, Jeff Lombardo, who invented a simple tool to make picture hanging easy and straight. What caught my eye was that it took Jeff three years to perfect his little chalk wall marker BEFORE filing the patent and then FIVE years to actually get the patent. If I were a would-be inventor, that long of a wait would be a mite discouraging. I hand it to Jeff and we could support his patient and persistent efforts by buying his wall marker ($3) from his website - www.wallmarker.net. It looks actually useful and can't complain about the price. Good Luck to Jeff.
Here's "good luck" in Polish - Powodzenia! No, I can't pronounce it. But I did go to OddCast, selected the Polish language and heard Mr. Kryzsztof pronouce it. Cool.
Check out this " good luck" site for an amazing array of good luck charms, stones, animals, days, numbers, and on. We "stumbled upon" the site and found out, by stumbling, that the latest craze on the net will most likely be " Stumble Upon" - a new way to search.
Good luck to you today, tomorrow, the next day and the next day...... :) :) :) Sue 8:07
Friday, May 2 - Good morning, good morning. Looks like the high hotball hit for yesterday was at Sam's Town for $2,321, not real high, huh. Poker Palace and Silver Nugget paid out three $1,500 jackpots - way to go NLV players.
Coast Casinos are having four $1,000 coveralls at the 7pm and 9pm sessions tonight and the Cannery has the popular nickel/dime game at 10pm. Happy hunting.
I have teased my friends over the years that I want them to make sure that my obit says "Susan Mary, the beloved wife of......", be-loved or bloved, being the key word. Well, my PA friend Doris, a retired RN, sent in the following: " In today's paper this retired nurse's husband died. I was reading the obit and it said believed wife, Kay. So even if you're not beloved you are probably believed!" Kwazy world we live in :). That was a good one Doris.
Then we heard from the lady who had her daubers confiscated by our government: in part, "they put my purse aside and said they had to go through it again, because something looked suspicious and opened my life to see all the 4 or five bingo daubers. Reason: Because it contained more than 3.4 ounces of liquid." This is so unbelievably stupid, I think it deserves national media attention, I swear.
Don't forget the flash thing in the left column. Have a Fun Friday being foot loose and fancy free! Sue 8:18am
Thursday, May 1 - Good morning, good morning. Running late, so tune in tomorrow for lots of goodies ranging from Bingo Bashing to the kindness of the Bingo Goddess. Cannery looking good for today.
This was in our e-mail and I think it's legit but it is so funny/ridiculous makes you wonder what in the world is our country coming to: "just a reminder for those who may be flying. put your bingo daubers in your suitcase! Dont leave them in your purse or on your carry on. Mine (4) of them were confiscated by the Kansas City Security Force. Funny thing though on the way to my destination last week, they zipped right through Las Vegas. Now this is getting stupid.!"
Hey, have a great day. Oh, Poker Palace and Silver Nugget both upped their hotball jackpots to $1500 today - small rooms great chances. Sue 8:37am
Wednesday, April 30 - Good morning, good morning. We golfed, we gambled, and I am staying home for a long time :).
Rose did well both on the course and at the casino - she's a good girl which makes me a .......
I did look for a Bingo Bugle, but the May edition wasn't available. Go to Bingo4Fun for an on-line version. Silver Nugget is changing their hotball/cashball amounts and hope we can get the new info on the hotline.
Have a productive day. Sue 8:05am
Tuesday, April 29 - Good morning, good morning. Looks like about 6 hotball hits yesterday - the high at little Poker Palace for $1,886. That doesn't count Arizona Charlie's Boulder which missed the report this morning, but only 6 hits, three under a $1,000. Not a particularly good bingo day. Maybe today is the day?
Rose gave one of her kidneys to her sister Barb about 7 weeks ago. She has most of her strength and energy back and wants to try her favorite acitivity today - GOLF. However, Mother Nature is conspiring against her with predicted gusty winds up to 40mph. We certainly have tons of sunshine around here but you don't hear too much about the frequent wind factor. And we do seem to get more than our share of Mr. Blowhard.
From RL to hikers: "Here's a walk on the wild side! Originally built in 1901, this walkway now serves as an approach to Makinodromo, Spain, the famous climbing sector of El Chorro." Hikers, go to Bright Cove - not for the faint-hearted.
Thanks for visiting and good luck. Sue 7:28am
Monday, April 28 - Good morning, good morning. That 7pm hotball at the South Point is still there, over $18,000 today. The Cannery has a progressive that is ripe and it is a huge jackpot. Good hunting. About nine hotball hits yesterday, not particularly great, but a decent high hit at Sam's for $5,770. Seems like there are quite a few puny pots, which I define as those under a grand.
Louise is a sweetie and let me know that she doesn't get credit for the Take Me Fishing link - credit belongs to Rag Lady.
RL sent in a video about talking on a cell while driving, increases chances of an accident 400%. Don't know if it's that high, but I am sure it does increase the risk. Let's all be mindful.
Well, it's a Monday and you know that means extra smiles. Give and you shall receive :). Sue 8:00am
Sunday, April 27 - Good morning, good morning. Used spell check yesterday and accidentally selected "defiantly" instead of definitely. Doesn't help if you don't select the right word, does it?
Louise sent in the link Take Me Fishing - what a great reference site for fisher-people. I poked around a bit and it is really interesting and comprehensive. The site belongs to: "The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to increase participation in recreational angling and boating and thereby increase public awareness and appreciation of the need for protecting, conserving and restoring this nation's aquatic resources."
Louise also sent in the "The Lone Ranger Story" on You Tube. On the long side, but Jay Thomas does a funny story. .
From RL - post an ad for free for 30 days on Las Vegas Now. RL reminds us to be extra careful due to the increase in burglaries - shares a Washington Post article about the 21% rise in the district.
Good luck to you should you venture into Bingoland. Hope you get to yell
Sue 8:25am
Saturday, April 26 - Good morning, good morning. A lucky player won the bonus coverall at Terrible's yesterday - $19,515 in 52 numbers! Congratulations. Bingoland was defiantly filled with Friday Fun with the $19,515 hit and an outstanding number of hotball hits - 17. Plaza players had the high at $7,578 and the most hits at four out of six sessions. Fiesta Rancho was also a good place to play with three hits and the second high at $6,770. The Bingo Goddess trumped the bingo managers :).
We have a funny gaffe by an anchor man - made me grin. Actually, made me laugh the second time I watched it. Here's one on a lottery winner who gets rid of his wife. Not so funny, maybe would be too close to home? Thanks RL. Are you sure you don't want your own page?
Have a wonderful day. Oh, house is clean since hubby's guitar friends are coming over. He works his butt off shampooing the carpeting, washing floors, windows, etc. He even takes care of buying and preparing the food for the guys. I like it. It's the once a month he does something around here :) :) :). Sue 7:33am
Friday, April 25 - Good morning, good morning. Counted nine hotball hits with the high of $3,635 at the South Point. Arizona Charlie's Boulder said their dual daub game is at 32 numbers but before it was at 33, so not sure if the agent just made a mistake on the Bugle's hotline or what. If you try for the big one at the Cannery, be forewarned that it will be crowded, especially on a Friday night. Cannery not only has a huge jackpot that could go, they also have that nickel/dime session at 10pm.
I got a compliment: "you always make me laugh and I do enjoy your laugh, you have a great laugh and a good sense of humor." That was so nice. We need all the stroking we can get, don't we?
Friday fun, be a little cautious though. You know how those Gambling Gremlins can be so treacherous. Sue 7:45am
Thursday, April 24 - Good morning, good morning. The Jumbo hit! And the Dual Daub at Fiesta Rancho hit! And the $14,310 hotball at Sam's Town hit. How delicious.
From Rag Lady: "This gal does darling stuff with usually garage sale finds. Her place looks like the cottage by the sea I have always dreamed of. Click on a few of her friends blogs and check out their treasures also, such clever romantic ideas. Can just get lost in her site for hours with great ideas." I agree, the following site is charming, relaxing yet inspiring, and just plain easy to get lost in - go to Romantic Home to see what we are talking about :).
Rag Lady is also helping out Joan who is having another estate sale at 1861 Betty Lane - go to Backpage for details. Good hunting there.
And this from RL: Sue, Today is the last day to register online for the race against breat cancer. I am sponsoring this dear friend as my Mom had breast cancer as did my sister, cousin and many many dear friends. If anyone wants to sign up to run or walk, do so today. If they want to just donate, they can do both right on Race for the Cure. Thanks, Rag lady.
I offered RL the position of unpaid columnist with her own page and all, but she didn't bite. You all have a delicious day. Sue 7:35am
Wednesday, April 23 - Good morning, good morning. The Cannery and Terrible's had dueling bingo rooms, but the Cannery edged out with four hotball wins to Terrible's three hotball hits. But remember, Terrible's has only six sessions so let's call it a tie :)> But the big win was at Sam's for $6,878. Good going players.
Sorry I'm on the late side. Yeah, I had a "get out of jail" card yesterday and just had to run over to my nearby watering hole (which is poisoned by the slot manager most of the time). BUT, glory be, I finally had a W.O.W. night. Hope you do today should you go out and play. Sue 9:25am
Tuesday, April 22 - Good morning, good morning. Another $10,000 winner at Terrible's! Three $10,000 hits in five days. Wow.
Game players, RL sent us Virtual Pilot which is about geography. Good lesson for aging minds. Here's a website devoted to the science of brain health - sharpbrains.com - check out the page Ten Habits of Highly Effective Brains.
Time to sign off. Have a good day. Sue 8:31am
Monday, April 21 - A good Monday morning to you. Bingo was so-so yesterday with about 6 hotball hits; three at South Point and three at Gold Coast with a high of $3,705 and a low of $717.
This You Tube video of animals reminds me of Candid Camera - funny. Thanks Rag Lady.
Thanks for visiting have a grrrreat Monday. Smile. Sue 8:35am
Sunday, April 20 - Good morning. Good morning. I want to send to many of you a special thanks and wishes for much good luck. Although the number of visits to John's Picks was low (less than 40), I believe many more tried to hit the ads. Google is much more sophisticaled now and most likely blocked many attempts that were driven by this site. But thanks for the trying and special thanks to those that got through. I was reading an article about Google in the RJ and there was a mention of comscore.com. Out of curiousity, I went to the site which is geared for heavy duty marketers; i.e., state of the internet report costs $4,999.
Hard to miss these two newsy articles: 115 years old Edna Parker and the 4 quads. Edna's 59 year old grandson said she was never a worrier and was always thin. Regarding the quadruplets, three of the four boys are identical - very rare. Way too late for me to have quads :), but maybe if I stop worrying and lose my belly fat I can make it to say 90???
Whatever is on your agenda today, do the best you can and whistle while you work. Sue 5:35am
Saturday, April 19 - Good morning, good morning. Again, yesterday's play produced a $10,000 winner at Terrible's - Hooray, Hooray!! And that's not the end of the story. The Bingo Goddess granted many wishes for Suncoast players yesterday - about $19,000 in hotball wishes. How sweet a win can be.
Brad at the Silver Nugget sends the following on their bingo: "We are starting new Progressive Money Balls where the house always adds all profits to the next days money ball. This way the house never wins (unheard of). We are starting all of them off at $1,500 on May 1......" Silver Nugget always has interesting bingo. As we understand it, other bingo rooms are under the gun to produce a profit. Used to be, the bigshots expected bingo to lose money for them, just wanted to get the people in. The game was a "loss lead." But that has changed in the "corporate world" where every department is expected to show a profit ..or else...
Haven't talked to John - but sure do hope you guys did me that little, teeny favor and clicked on an ad at John's Picks.
Time to get ready to take a few things over to Shirley's yard sale (at 6123 Marvin St., NLV). Please have a safe, interesting, and wonderful day. Sue 6:20am
P. S. RL sent a bunch of cuties listed as "Sign of the Times" - here are a couple of samples:
In a Podiatrist's office:
"Time wounds all heels."
On an Electrician' s truck:
"Let us remove your shorts."
On a Fence:
"Salesmen welcome! Dog food is expensive!"
Friday, April 18 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday's play produced a $10,000 winner at Terrible's - Hooray !
Rag Lady sent the link for those Clever Chefs - thanks RL, you are right on top of things aren't you? It looks like we have lots of interesting e-mail and I swear I will get to reading them today.
I have a favor to ask of you - my son John moved to the Reno area last year and has just got around to working on his old website - John's Picks. The favor is - would you go to the website and click on a Google ad? He will make a few cents on those pay-for-clicks ads from Google. I considered putting up some Google ads on bingoupdate.com and asking you all to hit one once in a while, but that would be against the rules (can't encourage visitors to click on the ads). Guess that makes sense. I know I am going around the back door with John's Picks, but, well, he's my son :).
We have another plug - this time for our neighbor who is having a huge yard sale - actually several neighbors. I told Shirley I wasn't in since I piled up my driveway with all kinds of "stuff" just a couple of weeks ago for a Safe Nest pick-up. But I will probably find a few items to put up on one of her tables. Here's the address: 6123 Marvin Street, NLV - a couple of blocks from the Mormon church on Tropical and Clayton. Shirley and etal will be set up by 7:00 am tomorrow morning.
Rose, do you want my Pampered Chef round stone (which I never use)?
Okay, I will try to get caught up on e-mail, try to figure out why this program is hanging up so often, and try to get back into bingo happenings. Resolutions - easy to make, hard to keep. Oh, one last thing. Doris, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your feedback on my new project. Let's talk soon. And Jerrie, yes I will be in touch with you as I certainly could use some help at times.
Everyone, everywhere, have a great day. Sue 8:05am
Thursday, April 17 - What can I say? Maybe I need some time off. Actually, I took some medication last night which sure made me sleepy. No, it was not liquor! But be assured, I am not opposed to liquor
Have a good day. Sue 9:57am
Wednesday, April 16 - Good morning, good morning. Boy, I had my dates mixed up on this page for the last couple of days. Oh well, guess the world didn't stop spinning :).
Yesterday's hotball action was OUTSTANDING. Counted 15 hits - with Sam's Town players catching both the first place and second place high hits - $7,951 and $5,771. Way to go VBPs.
Louise sent a link to pictures of airplane cockpits - cool. Louise also sent a reminder: "If You Smell Gas - If you think you have a leak, gather your family and pets together and get out of your home right away. Call the gas company from your neighbor’s house. Never go back inside for any reason — until the gas company says it’s okay to do so." Louise and Rag Lady sent pictures of animals cut out of food titled "What Chefs do When Bored" but I don't have the link. If I get the link, will share what the Clever Chefs can do with you. That didn't come out quite right - should be "will share with you what the Clever Chefs can do."
Well, just read most of the e-mails and ACE and DORIS did take the time to let me know I messed up on the dates last couple of days. Course if I only I had read the e-mails timely........ :) :) :)>
You all have a great day. Sue 8:10am
Tuesday, April 15 - Good morning, good morning. Oh, oh. Overstayed, overplayed and overslept. Will try to be on the bright side tomorrow :). Sue 8:50am
Monday, April 14 - Good morning, good morning on this Monday, Monday morning. Hope all is well in your world.
Not too much going on, been a home-bug for quite a while. That's going to end today as I simply must have a pedicure! Course, whenever I am out doing whatever, seems that old Merc can't help pulling into a casino parking lot. Damn that car.
Rag Lady sent a video of a little girl boxing which I almost didn't watch since I am basically opposed to pain/violence and also think little girls should be dainty, protected by heroes. Well, I did watch and good for self-defense - as RL put it, try to take her lunch money away.
We did our taxes EARLY this year, on the 12th instead of tomorrow, the 15th. Isn't it annoying to have that hanging over our heads for over three months? Criminy sakes.
Okay Bingo Gang, be good, do good. Smile. Sue 7:42am
Sunday, April 13 - Good morning, good morning. What a change in the action yesterday. Looks like there were about 9 hotball hits with the high at the South Point for $11,758 and a good second high at Sam's for $5,110. Way to go.
Okay, need your opinion on something. Would some of you be interested in e-cards? We received the following e-mail:
Hello, Please check out http://www.katiescards.com We would love to offer your members free membership to our English animated ecard site for a link to your site. Please contact me at the above address and I can arrange for free membership for a year. Many thanks. Harriet Hellman
I haven't contacted Harriet, so not entirely sure how this would work. But the question - is there enough interest out there? If so, I'll follow through and contact H.H. - looks like Jacquie Lawson has some competition :).
It's Sunday - have a great one. Sue 6:55am
Saturday, April 12 - Good morning, good morning. The casinos are out to call me a liar, but I did say "usually" a dual daub hits between when set at 36-38 numbers. Yesterday's winner was at Poker Palace and won $18,446 with that jackpot set at only 34 numbers! Good for the winner and goes to show, one just never knows.
On the flip side of yesterday's big win at Poker Palace, saw only two hotball hits at the places we track. One was at Suncoast's 11pm for $1,541 and the other at Sam's 3pm for $4,142. Two hotball hits out of approximately 75 sessions did not make for a sterling Friday in Bingoland.
We do not know what's happening in the Stations' bingo rooms but then, besides the honchos, who does :) :) :). Stations is so big, they make sure there is good media coverage of their top winner(s) and made it clear, long ago, they do not need little ole me for any kind of promoting. So, I don't :). But primarily, we never liked what we saw as manipulation of the Jumbo cards (pulling favorable cards out of play). Allegedly, the Gaming Commission said as long as it is done across the board, that every one has the same chance, it's okay. Is it? We do not have inside info, but have never liked, the thought alone, that bingo cards may be manipulated. In fairness to Stations, apparently this is the modus operandi of other rooms that have the odd/even game.
I don't know what got me started on all that. Done with it now :). You have a wonderful Saturday. I'm in again. Sue 8:05am
Friday, April 11 - Good morning, good morning. I'm pooped out, haven't been to bed yet. Working on another project and got carried away. Sooo, no news, no chat - just have a great Friday. (No, I was not "out and about" :) :). Sue 4:45am
Thursday, April 10 - Good morning, good morning. Yep, another progressive win yesterday. This time, the lucky and smart player was at the Suncoast and won $57,251 on the Even Bettor (odd/even) game set at 54 numbers. Good for you! The three Boyd properties paid out their huge progressives within 6 days of each other.
Rag Lady sent a You Tube video of a skydiver displaying a huge U.S. flag as he floats down and the air show crowd sings the national anthem. Makes the old patriotric heart do some thumping. I jumped out of a plane a couple of times when I was young - just static line. But even with a static line, it was, well, thrilling. (I was dating the instructor at the time :) :) :).
Have a Be Good to Yourself Day. Sue 7:45am
Wednesday, April 9 - Holy Toledo! Holy Smokes! Arizona Charlie's on the Boulder Highway paid out a $27,883 Dual Daub or Double Action jackpot yesterday. The amazing part is that it was set at only 33 numbers, a repeat of last month's wondrous hit. Wow. We are aware that a dual daub can go in 33 numbers, but it is unusual to see that when the needed numbers for a win is set that low. Usually hits when set between 36 - 38 numbers even though the win might be caught in less numbers.
And usually, progressive pots have to have some time to build up, at least a couple of weeks. Something I heard one time. Go figure.
Running late, will close :). Have a great day. Sue 8:37am
Tuesday, April 8 - Good morning, good morning. There was a "Holy Toledo!" win yesterday - this time at the Gold Coast for an amazing $75,558 on the odd/even jackpot set at 55 numbers for only two days. Another WOW, wow, wow.
Doris sent a trivia and Tic Tac Toe game combo at Animax. Here's a You Tube spoof on the airline industry and they deserve lots of spoofs and out right criticism. Rag Lady sends in a WebMD message for ladies - start drinking green tea if you don't already. When I was a kid, I loved "Sky Bars." Guess what, still around at Hometown Favorites.
I was asked one time what my fondest childhood memory was - had no trouble coming up with going to the penny candy store. Just standing in front that huge, slanted glass covered case, looking at all that candy, trying to make a decision, was so intense. Sometimes, I saved a penny for the gumball machine which had a couple of yellow striped gumballs, better known as the "winners." Get one of those, and you got a whole nickel or 5¢ worth of candy. Holy Toledo! Hmm, the gambling seed?
Well gang, that's a wrap. Have a good one. Sue 7:53am
Monday, April 7 - Good morning, good morning. Huge, huge win yesterday at the South Point. The dual daub game just went to 36 numbers and a savvy player did something terribly right - walked out with a win for $57,037! W.O.W., wow, wow.
To see what's going on in Vegas Bingoland, you might want to take a few minutes to look at the on-line Bingo Bugle if you haven't yet picked up a hard copy (I haven't cause I've been staying home ).
Have you noticed the rising prices at the grocery stores, etc.? Not to mention the gas stations. Rag Lady sends in some websites that offer coupons to help us save a little here and there. Adds up. (Course a really big savings would be to cut down on our play time, way down.) Cents Off and Retail Me Not are two sites to try if you are a coupon clipper.
Methinks the Sleeping Giant is starting to wake up. I freely admit that the intricacies of free trade agreements and world economics is over my head, but so much business with China is, for me, worrisome to say the least.
Extra smiles please. Sue 7:30am
Sunday, April 6 - Good morning, good morning. Cannery players took that gigantic hotball jackpot out of play last night - $12, 554. Good for the winner(s)!
There was this long e-mail in my "time to read" file and I admittedly did not read it all. BUT, here's a section that might be of interest to some guys out there: "WE ARE NOW CASTING GUYS TO BE ON THE SHOW! If you are interested in
auditioning and/or KNOW someone who you'd like to nominate, please do NOT reply to this email but instead, send an email to: ThePickUpArtist@TheGame.com and make sure you put “PUA referred by Holland” in the subject line." If interested, do your checking.
This too was in the e-mails - get used to the new $5 bill (Good for one Gallon of Gas). Getting bad out there,
AOL had an article about Alzheimer's. In part: "Here's something you can do right now, right where you are, to improve your memory: Repeat this sentence: My memory is better than I think it is. What you believe about your memory can have an impact on how well you remember things, ............." I believe that and I am going to stop saying that I'm losing my memory. New mantra - I have a good memory! We'll see :).
I don't know yet what's going on in Vegas Bingoland this month - haven't been "out and about." Hopefully, will get that news out to you in the next day or two.
Have a Super Sunday. Sue 8:22am
Saturday, April 5 - Good morning, good morning and do we ever have one extremely happy VBP who was playing bingo at Sam's Town. That lucky player hit the progressive for $32,781 and the odd/even game just went to 54 numbers a couple of days ago. (Gold Coast went to 55 today.) Terrific and what a difference a day makes.
I mentioned that elephant doing a self-portrait yesterday but forgot to check Snopes which I did this morning - TRUE. Oh, for the newcomers, the reason I wanted Rose's husband to see the clip is because he is an artist and a darn good one.
Here's one of his Western pictures (which my digital didn't do justice) but he does all different genres. He will do an original artwork upon request for a ridiculously low price.
And another plug for that estate sale: Thurs, Fri, and Sat from 10 AM to 3 PM at 1861 Betty Lane. If we can help someone out there that needs a plug, let us know.
Have a great day. Sue 7:22am
(haven't checked e-mail in a couple days, bear with me - this hasn't been my best week :) :) :)
Friday, April 4 - Good afternoon. Seem to be falling apart this week. Good thing I'm not gambling right now :). Yesterday was on the stinky side for Vegas Bingo Players. Only about four hot ball hits. Yuckee.
Rose, you have to show this You Tube video to Charlie - an elephant doing a self portrait. It takes a couple of minutes, but I had to watch it. What a surprise to me I'll tell you.
The rest of you, be good, do good. Make it a W.O.W. day - walk out winning. Sue 12:50pm
Friday, April 4 - Good morning, good morning. Sorry, I'm not able to get the jackpot info this morning. The hotline has been busy. That's a first in the years we've been doing this. We'll try later today. Sue 9:28am
Thursday, April 3 - Good morning, good morning. We counted six hotball hits yesterday with the high at $2,047. Not a particularly outstanding day for VBPs.
We want to give our friend another plug about her estate sale - Thurs, Fri, and Sat from 10 AM to 3 PM at 1861 Betty Lane.
Have a wonderful day. If you go out to play, kill those little darn Garmbling Gremlins if any get in your way. Sue 7:25am
Wednesday, April 2 - Good morning, good morning. Late late this morning. And I forgot to print out yesterday's jackpot info so I didn't mark if a hotball hit with the little asterisk. Do want to thank all you wonderful visitors - we had over 95,000 hits in March. Tiny Seychelles is one of the countries that visits us on a regular basis. Maybe one of these days, the faithful Seychellois will send a note we can post. We love you :).
Rag Lady sent us an article about the world's largest swimming pool - it's in Chile. Wow. A friend is having a humongous estate sale - Thurs, Fri, and Sat from 10 AM to 3 PM at 1861 Betty Lane. Mapquest is great for directions.
Neither Rose nor PCT hit at the Bingo Gala but said it was fun affair and they had great neighbors at their table. One of these days Rose, a big one is coming.
Bingo Buddies, have a good one. Try not to overstay and overplay. Sue 10:50am
Wednesday, April 2 - Good morning. I may not be able to get to the "update" today, or at least not this morning. I am sure we'll be back in tune tomorrow. Sue 8:37am
Tuesday, April 1 - Good morning, good morning. The 11am $10,000 Dual Daub jackpot went to a lucky Terrible's player yesterday. Good for you.
If there are any REAL golfers out there, you might want to look at this deal for $149.95. (We play 9 holes at the City of NLV course for $6.50.) Rag Lady also sent in an Independence Day test. Thanks RL.
Today, partly cloudy, high 76F. Didn't hear from Rose, so assume she is going to hit a big one today :). Look out for pranksters! Sue 7:44am
Monday, March 31 - Good morning, good morning. We're not sure, but that $13,623 hotball jackpot at the Cannery may have hit yesterday. The agent said it was at $11,134 today, so that would be one heck of a secondary pot now wouldn't it?
Rose and PCT will be at South Point's mega bingo event today and tomorrow. Now one or both of you hit something. Good Luck, truly.
Smile. It's a Monday. Sue 8:15am
Sunday, March 30 - Good morning, good morning. That $10,000 at Terribles finally went. My record shows that it went to 38 numbers on February 21st. Just never know.
Rag Lady sent us the link for Bingo America which airs tomorrow. We appreciate links to interesting sites. Send them in!
Enjoy your Sunday. Watchout for the Gambling Gremlins if you go out to play. Sue 8:25am
Saturday, March 29 - Good morning, good morning A beautiful weekend is upon us. Enjoy, enjoy.
Not much in the way of bingo news - high hotball hit yesterday was at the South Point for $4,389. Coast Casinos' progressives went up a notch.
This golf video is for Rose (ignore the opening ad) even though I have never seen her lose her cool :). Rag Lady also sent the Laws of Golf and here's a sample: Law 1 - Regression to the Mean - Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former. Rose is chomping at the bit to get on the course.
Have a wonderful day, each and every day. Sue 7:35am
Friday, March 28 - Good morning, good morning.
Want to see where Rev. Wright plans to live in his retirement? How about this $1.6mil home. Hmmm. Poor truckers, the cost of fuel and insurance is making it very tough on them. Here's a relevant article sent by RL - some truckers are threatening to strike.
I'm up early because the Safe Nest truck is coming. Now I have to run out there and put the "stuff" on the driveway. You have a great day. Sue 7:12am
Thursday, March 27 - Good morning, good morning. The Bingo Goddess slept most of yesterday - four hotball hits. Hmmm.
For enlightenment about the endoscopy scandal which has caused tremendous fright, concern, and inconvenience for thousands of Las Vegans, here's an article in the RJ by John Smith. From another source: "According to Nevada officials, between March 2004 and Jan. 11th 2008, patients of of the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada may have been exposed to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV. Health officials estimate as many as 40,000 patients could have been at risk of exposure." All this terrible chaos and consequences, so the doctor could save a few bucks by reusing syringes and single-dose vials of medicine.
Take care, good care of yourself. Sue 8:16am
Wednesday, March 26 - Good morning, good morning. But of course, another beautiful day. Looks like the Suncoast was the hot spot yesterday; three hotball hits in a row including a biggee for $9,372. Good going.
Rag Lady sent an interesting site about a rare triple flyby - the ISS and two spaceships. Space Weather has set up a program where all you have to do is enter your zip code for satellite flybys for the next ten nights. For Las Vegans, the time to look in the sky is around 8:24 to 8:32 this evening.
Rose and her sister Barb are doing okay with their recoveries. I did tell you that Rose is home didn't I? Well, she is and has been since Saturday. Both gals are, as to be expected, on the "tired" side, doing some napping. Otherwise, coming along. Rose signed up for the Bingo Bash at the Southpoint this coming Monday and Tuesday. I wonder if she'll be able to handle that. She just said she'll see. Okie dokie.
Bingo pals and gals, have a wonderful, fantastic, smashing day. Sue 7:52am
Tuesday, March 25 - Good morning, good morning. That $12,437 hotball jackpot at Sam's 1pm went yesterday. Whoo hoo. What a hit.
There was a little flub yesterday. Though I was done before 8:30am which is my goal, there was an apparent problem with my server host in publishing and it didn't get up till about 8:50am. My host is terrific but once or twice a year, there's a snag. I know this isn't a major deal, but wanted to clear the air for the visitors who might have checked at 8:30am and said "what's up?" All's well.
You have yourself a special day. Do something extra nice for yourself and for someone special in your life. Sue 8:18am
Monday, March 24 - Good morning, good morning. No progressives yesterday, but two notable hotball hits: $7,115 at the Cannery's 10pm and $6,426 at the Gold Coast's 9pm. We have no way of knowing if single or multi winners on a hotball jackpot, but we are glad there are winners out there. But hope the pie wasn't cut too thin :).
There was an article in the RJ yesterday about a 7 yr. old boy and his 16 foot, 220 pound pet snake. You Tube has a video of the boy and Chamroeun. Something else.
I know this will really date me, but do you remember 17 cartoons on Easter Monday? SMILE :). Sue 8:22am
Easter Sunday, March 23 - Good morning, good morning and a very Happy Easter to you. And our thanks to Rag Lady for the Easter card from artist Jacquie Lawson.
The Gold Coast paid out a hotball jackpot for $8,244 at the 1pm session yesterday and the Suncoast paid out $5,315 at the 9pm session. Good for the lucky Coast players.
Enjoy your Easter and don't forget to include some chocolate, like bunny ears :). Sue 7:30am
Saturday, March 22 - Good morning, good morning. Plaza players hit the hotball four out of six sessions. Way to go. The high hit was also at the Plaza for $2,894. There are a couple of progressives that are ripe and it's not unusual to see a progressive go on or around a holiday (or holyday).
Here's a Flower Garden sent in by RL - click away on the black page. Thanks. Time to color some eggs? Try Family Fun or Martha Stewart for fancy ways to decorate the hard-boiled eggs. Now the lazy way is to throw some food coloring in the boiling water :).
Have a good one. Sue 8:00am
Friday, March 21 - Good morning, good morning. It was wild in Bingoland yesterday. Counted 14 hotball hits, five at the 7pm session with the high at Sam's Town for $6,706 at 7pm. Wow, what a difference from the day before.
Here's the website of a lady that does house portraits - great gift idea for a new, or even old, homeowner. However, , a newspaper article said she did a 36" x 15" water color painting of a very special home for which she charged $1,200. You have to be way up there on the money chain to pay that kind of money for a gift. She began painting house portraits when a friend, a real estate agent, asked if she could do a pen-and-ink portrait of a home she had just sold. She turned that into a successful business. Good for her.
Today is Good Friday of course. "Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation..."
Do whatever is in your heart. Sue 8:10am
Thursday, March 20 - Good morning, good morning. The Bingo Goddess must have been on a low yesterday - around four hotball hits with the high at only $2,136. Just never know.
Coast Casinos will be giving their bingo players a Whitman "Nostalgia" Tin with chocolates on Easter Sunday. Terrible's will have a Mystery Gift and there will be a sprinkling of freebies elsewhere.
Rose will be home Saturday which is terrific. But I really think she needs to hold off on the golfing for longer than she wants :).
Send in links to interesting websites, bingo news, or bingo gossip. Sometimes, I am just brain dead :). Sue 7:45am
Wednesday - March 19 - Good morning, good morning. My, the hotball action was good yesterday. The Bingo Goddess must have been on a high. And the high hit was at the Cannery for $14,156 with an amazing secondary jackpot today at $10,221. I do believe I heard that correctly. Counted at least 11 hits of the rooms we track. I also noticed that the Grandè at Fiesta Henderson is at 55#s.
We had a sweet e-mail from a Pittsburgh Barb regarding a comment I made the other day: " I know that there was an apple store in the Mall of America in Minneapolis. Haven't been there for a while -- but it was a charming store." Thanks PB, for taking the time to write.
Here's a picture of a rare Parrot Flower:
Okie dokie, have a good one. Stay out of trouble. I've been in NOG status for a whole 6 days :). Sue 9:15am
Wednesday, March 19 - Looks like I am going to be good and late today - should have the jackpot info up by say 9:30am?
Tuesday, March 18 - Good morning, good morning. Not too much in the way of bingo chatter. The only little news I have is that Sam's Town has a Butter Warmer with tea light for their bingo players today.
Hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day, and that you'll have a great day today. Play to win. Sue 8:15am
Monday, March 17 - Good morning, good morning. What a surprise hit yesterday! A dual daub that went when it was set at only 33 numbers. Rare indeed. That win was by a very lucky player at Arizona Charlie's Boulder for $30,874! Terrific.
Since, for whatever strange reason, I slept in this morning, I am signing off. Sue 9:10am
Sunday, March 16 - Good morning, good morning. The Jumbo hit yesterday. A very lucky player at one of the six Station bingo rooms won $50,000! Good for you.
Cannery has those four $1000 coveralls at the 2pm and 4pm sessions today. Silver Nugget has a special session at 1pm. Little Eldorado has a $1000 hotball at all sessions. Little Poker Palace keeps their hotball jackpots at a $1000 minimum.
Going to be a little chilly today for us desert rats, wear layers :). Sue 7:00am
Saturday, March 15 - Good morning, good morning. Several noteworthy hotball hits yesterday: $6,671 at the Suncoast, $4,198 at Sam's Town, and $3,653 at Terrible's. Good wins for sure.
Arizona Charlie's Decatur has triple $1,000 coveralls at the 11am and 9pm sessions AND $8 small rainbows. South Point is giving away a Shamrock Pocket Charm tomorrow. I should crochet some of my lucky shamrocks for friends (doesn't work for me, have to give them away). Cannery has an 18 Game Super Session tonight at 10pm - triple action with triple chance coverall. Did you notice their 8pm 5-digit hotball?
I was thinking it would be nice if someone opened an Apples Only store. You know, sell all different kinds of apples, apple pies, apple fritters, apple dumplings, apple recipes, peelers, corers, etc., etc. I don't know, but I think it's a good idea :). You see, I have too much time on my hands.
Have a great day. Sue 6:10am
Friday, March 14 - Good morning, good morning. Players at Arizona Charlie's Boulder enjoyed some good action yesterday with four hotball hits including the second high for $4,669. Suncoast paid out the high for $5,650. Keep up the good work :).
Rag Lady sent this video clip - National Anthem Fenway Park. " The video is of a young autistic man chosen to sing the anthem, on Disabilities Awareness Day. Listen to what the crowd does when he loses it and starts laughing half way through." And we have "Only You" for animal lovers. Aaahh.

Have yourself a Fun Friday - and a W.O.W. Friday - walk out winning! Sue 6:15am
Thursday, March 13 - Good morning, good morning. There was some decent action yesterday; no progressives, but a $6,869 hotball hit at the Cannery, a $5,281 hit at South Point, and four hits at the Cold Coast. and a number of other hotball hits. Decent day. And that doesn't include Sam's Town which missed the report for today.
Louise sent info about Coke and Bounce - an example from Funnyjunk website "To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coke over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion." It is also supposed to clean road haze from your windshield. I'm going to try that one. But it does make you think twice about drinking Coke, doesn't it?
Have a happy day - do what your heart desires. Sue 6:28am
Wednesday, March 12 - Good morning, good morning. Not much in the way of bingo news, kinda quiet in Bingoland. Oh, Coast Casinos have cash drawings in March on Wednesdays at the 11am and 7pm sessions. Station players - how do you feel about the 5 cashballs? Is it more exciting or more frustrating?
Regulars know that one of my frivolous pastimes is Sudoku and my favorite site is Krazy Dad. I'm on Book 11 of Tough and believe me Tough is tough enough. I have never even peeked at Super Tough or Insane. I'm not krazy.
Have a good one. Hope you make money today, should you go out and play. Sue 8:09am
Tuesday, March 11 - Good morning, good morning. High today expected to be 77F. Yippee.
Louise sent this warning from Florida police: BEWARE OF PAPER IN THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE. NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKING. You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised! BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME.
Sam's Town has a Mystery Gift today.
You all have a Titillating Tuesday :). Sue 8:25am
Monday, March 10 - Good morning, good morning Vegas Bingo Players. Monday morning. Hmmm.
Here's a different site sent by Rag Lady - Pic Answers. If you have a picture that needs an explanation, you can upload to that site for an answer. RL also sent Redneck Tank Top - really :). Then at Uncommon Pics, we have a picture of a Redneck Mansion (have to scroll down). Thanks RL, for some humor on a Monday morning.
Rose called me yesterday - she is doing remarkably well and so is Barb. Rose is out of the hospital (Barb has to stay in a while longer) and has no restrictions except usual post-surgery stuff like no heavy lifting, no vacuuming :), etc. She is looking forward to being home and going golfing towards the end of the month. What a gal.
Have a happy day. Smile. Sue 8:00am
Sunday, March 9 - Good morning, good morning. TWO progressives hit yesterday! One for a mere $57,625 at the South Point - wouldn't that one cure a lot of ills. The other was at Fiesta Rancho for $24,200, not too shabby as Rose would say. Both were dual daubs, but the one at Fiesta Rancho took a while to hit - went to 36 numbers on February 5th. The one at South Point was set at 35 numbers. Just never know. Congratulations to the big winners.
This video clip is from my sister about The Hawaii Chair demonstrated by Ellen DeGeneres - good for a good laugh. Louise sent a warning about scams - see Texas Attorney General for reminders of what not to do. B03 sent a lovely note for Rose and I will be sure she gets it. She hasn't been well enough to call yet, but hopefully soon.
Bingo guys and gals, have a fantastic day. Sue 8:30am.
Saturday, March 8 - Good morning, good morning. The 9pm Dual Daub jackpot at Terrible's was won by a lucky player who got to pocket $10,000. It had just gone to to 37 numbers the day before. Good for the winner.
Tonight, the Silver Nugget has a super session at 7pm - the program is under sample bingo program.
This was in our mailbox yesterday - "The Cannery was hit yesterday at the 12PM, on the 36 number, N 32." Don't know how I missed it, but thank you reader for taking the time to let us know.
Heard from Rose's husband yesterday morning and the transplant was a success. One of Rose's kidneys is now functioning in her sister Barb. Now both of you, heal quickly!
Have a wonderful day. Sue 7:40am
Friday, March 7 - Good morning, good morning. A very lucky Cannery bingo player hit that huge jackpot either Wednesday or yesterday - was $72,187 on Wednesday. The progressive dual daub game was at 36 numbers for only a couple of days. Congratulations to the winner of the mega jackpot!
Here's a cutie from Rag Lady: " A dog is truly a man's best friend. If you don't believe it, just try this experiment. Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour. When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you!"
Arizona Charlie's Boulder has $6 paper rainbows and match play small rainbows in the machine this month. Plaza has a new $5,000 bonanza game in 50#'s or less; $1,000 in 51 to 55#s; and $500 in 56#'s or more. Little Poker Palace has $5 small rainbows every day, every session. You can also get a free red pack on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at Poker Palace with minimum buy-in and your slot card (one per person per day).
I am waiting to hear about Rose and Barb - the kidney transplant was to take place yesterday. Getting a tad anxious. Take care and have a good one. Sue 7:10am
Thursday, March 6 - Good morning, good morning. I've had computer problems this morning. Took a while to get straightened out. So I'm just going to say, have a good day :). Sue 8:40am
Wednesday, March 5 - Good morning, good morning.
Rag Lady sent a short video on a " cool flashlight" that quickly turns into a machine gun. She also sent another video on a new safety saw which should be a must see for guys who are into using a table saw. Thanks RL.
We had over 90,000 hits in February including visitors from around the world. Thank you all, very much, for visiting and have a great day. Sue 7:45am
Tuesday, March 4 - Good morning, good morning. Bingo action was on the mild side except for two notable hotball hits; the 11pm at Sam's for $5,092 and the 9pm at the Plaza for $2,787. Those were good hits for sure, but not much else.
Louise is a a boy scout at heart and sent a "Be Prepared" list that we should carry in our wallets:
1. Your primary doctor's name and telephone #
2. A list of all medications that you take - prescription, over-the-counter and supplements -- with the exact names and dosages.
3. A miniature version of your EKG if you have a history of heart problems, so ER doctors have a baseline for comparison.
4. Any allergies, especially to drugs.
5. The name and phone number of a relative or friend you would like to be called in an emergency.
That's true, we should, but will we?
Big day for Obama and Clinton. When I said earlier that Clinton was a safe bet, a reader sent me an e-mail reminding me that the Patriots were a safe bet. Sharp guy.
Have a good day. Stay away from Vegas endoscopy clinics :). Sue 8:03am
Monday, March 3 - Good morning, good morning. Another beautiful day for us to enjoy.
I am having a gambler's hangover this morning, so not too chatty. I'd been doing fairly well staying away, but went out for a bit yesterday - overstayed and overplayed. And the worse part, it wasn't even really fun. Most of the video poker machines I tried, didn't want to pay or play. Come to think of it, that's pretty much par for the course. I even tried bingo, but not to be.
Well gang, if you do it, do better than I did. SMILE. it's a Monday. Sue 6:55am
Sunday, March 2 - Good morning, good morning. Lots of hotball hits yesterday, at least 16. South Point players enjoyed four in a row including the second high for $4,183. Plaza players hit the high for $4,252. Sam's Town 11pm didn't hit the day before as we indicated, it's at $4,814 today. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish if an agent is saying four thousand something or one thousand something on the hotline. Just happens.
Today, we put up the Silver Nugget's Super 1pm session on Sundays - go to Sample Bingo Program. Small room, low cost buy-in, different games, and more games make playing bingo at the Silver Nugget a good bargain.
My sister sent me this " Shadow Puppet" with the song Wonderful World. It's one of those aahhh videos.
You have a wonderful day. Sue 7:45am
Saturday, March 1 - Good morning, good morning. March already. Wow. Are you as happy as I am with our beautiful warm weather? This is just such a wonderful time weather-wise around here. Enjoy, enjoy.
I don't have the latest issue of the Bingo Bugle yet, so don't know what specials if any are going on this month. I am sure I'll be "out and about" in the next few days, and will try to remember to pick one up. We do have St. Patrick's Day and Easter in March, so maybe there's something extra out there. You can download the Bugle at bingo4fun - (I don't have the time right now). Also, we'll have a new sample bingo program tomorrow.
Have a great day. If you can't stay away, win and walk away for Pete's sake :). Sue 8:28am
Friday, February 29 - Good morning, good morning on this Leap Day 2008 not to be confused with Sadie Hawkins Day (which I was until I looked it up).
Most of the rooms have pretty good sessions on Friday - want to drive in the crowd :). Today, the Coast Casinos will have a "Leap Year Special Cash Giveaway" at the 11am and 7pm sessions (earn drawing tickets beginning 2/25). The Cannery has the popular $5/$10 session at 10pm.
Here's a video from Louise where someone extremely clever morphs the faces of famous actresses like you just have to see. The address includes "wii" but I don't know what "wii's" do :). Too much technology out there for me.
Have a Fun Friday and win. Of course, if you win it will be a Fun Friday :). Sue 7:30am
Thursday, February 28 - Good morning, good morning. Yesterday's hot bingo room was at the Suncoast. Five hotball hits including the high for $8,297, second high for $5,018, and third high for $3,010! That sure was a good day for Suncoast players - way to go.
I decided I wanted to go darker on my hair color yesterday. Remember my redhead experience? Well, I went to rinse out something I put on called maybe light ash brown, and just got started when the water shut off. In the entire house. They were doing some work outside. Sooo, I had to wait a couple of hours and have to tell you that about half my hair reminds me of Elvira. Time heals all wounds, and all hair color disasters :).
Have a good one. Sue 7:58am
Wednesday, February 27 - Good morning, good morning. Terrible's is at it again. A lucky player won the bonus coverall game for $15,820 set at only 50 numbers. Terrific.
Rose is home for a couple of days - she wanted to get out of the cold that's going on in Kansas City. However, she and her husband will be leaving Friday or so, to go back to Kansas City, as the transplant is scheduled for March 6. We did get together for a little golf yesterday and she is upbeat as usual. She had an excellent score too! What a gal.
Have a lucky day should you go out to play :). Sue 7:40am
Tuesday, February 26 - Good morning, good morning. Let's get caught up on e-mail. Rag Lady pointed out that the link under "Living in Vegas" for KSHP, the Radio Shopping Show, was broken. Fixed up now. Louise sent a video on how someone can open baggage without a key. She also sent a video- the USMC Silent Drill Platoon - doing a drill at a half-time show at a NBA game. Awesome.
Fradee sent an e-mail with an attachment, but I don't recall the name so I deleted it. Fradee, if you are a regular, please send a regular e-mail so we can get acquainted. An out-of-towner wanted to know if she would need to take an elevator to get to a bingo room. Told her not to worry, no elevator needed.
A sunshiney day coming our way. Might get in a little golfing. You have a happy day. Sue 7:20am
Monday, February 25 - Good morning, good morning. Two progressives hit Saturday or Sunday - $15,900 at Fiesta Henderson (that jackpot sat at 56 numbers for weeks) and $20,601 dual daub jackpot at little Poker Palace. Good for the winners.
And for the winners at the Oscars, check out Oscar.com. Geez, I'm running late. Have a good one. No, a great one. Sue 8:35am
Saturday, February 23 - Good morning, good morning. Another HUGE win yesterday - this time at the Suncoast for $57,098 with the odd/even jackpot just going to 55 numbers the same day. Way to go bingo player. That kind of money can make a wonderful difference in a person's life.
Gamblers know the importance of "positive thinking" and "positive visualization." The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is supposed to help us stay focused on being positive. RL sends us BargainJack's website and Jack has The Secret as the bargain pick of the day.
Have a great day. Sue 7:35am
Friday, February 22 - Good morning, good morning. A huge win yesterday at Arizona Charlie's Boulder - $53,827 on the Dual Daub game set at 35 numbers. Whoo Who! Then Terrible's 7pm $10,000 dual daub went to 38 numbers yesterday and, yep, a lucky player grabbed that pot.
Did you ever want to be a Mystery Shopper? Go to qualityshopper.org and find out how. Al Gibes, the Online Guy for the RJ, touts Zoho, a free office sofware suite that "can handle virtually anything that comes your way." The RJ carried an article on Cheryl Slader, a former showgirl, who operates a yoga studio in the arts' district for DONATIONS. Go to her website, Blue Sky Yoga, for more info and schedules. A quote by Cheryl: "Jivamukti means to be liberated while living." What a gal.
If you want info on the "stimulus package," the best source is the IRS website. RL sends a link on that rogue satellite that was shot down by our defense system.
Okie dokie. Have a fun day, even enjoy the rain (if it in fact comes). Sue 7:23am
Thursday, February 21 - Good morning, good morning. We don't know if that $20,800 Dual Daub jackpot at Fiesta Rancho hit yesterday. On the hotline, the agent said it was $13,000 today at 36 numbers??? But the Fiesta website shows $20,800 (yesterday's amount) in 36 numbers. So, don't know. If you go to the website, you'll see that the odd/even jackpot at Fiesta Henderson is still there - $15,500 in 56 numbers. Actually, that was yesterday's amount; but on the hotline, the agent said it was at $15,600 in 56 numbers for today. Confused? (Never mind, never mind. I checked after my earlier publishing, and the Fiesta Rancho website has been updated to show $21,000 in 36 numbers. Whew. 7:00am)
E-bay has some competition from another on-line auction site - Bidtopia.
Plan your day, work your plan. And, think positive. Sue 6:15am
Wednesday, February 20 - Good morning, good morning. Another $10,000 winner at Terrible's! This time the player was at the 5pm session and hit the dual daub game in 37 or less numbers. Good going.
South Point players caught two huge hotball jackpots - $7,043 and $6,635. Cannery paid out a $5,852 hotball jackpot at the 10am session. Some people are winning :).
Be good, do good. Sue 7:33am
Tuesday, February 19 - Good morning, good morning. BIG win yesterday at Sam's Town. A very lucky player hit the odd/even coverall game for $35,967 and that jackpot was at 55 numbers for only a day or two. What a hit. Congratulations to the winner.
We received an interesting presidential candidacy poll site from Doris - StemWizer (is that German?). I took the poll and at the end, each candidate's position on the issues was outlined and compared with my position. I found this to be a good, informative survey, but did not check it out for credibility. I will say it looks good.
Ace reminds us to do our comparisron shopping. He had a few silver coins and was offered $220 for them by a dealer in Long Beach; a coin place here in Vegas offered $167 for the same lot.
Robert in Indiana and his wife whose birthday is on February 29th will be coming to town and staying at the Plaza. We wish you both a ton of good luck. That goes for the rest of you. Sue 6:45am
Monday, February 18 - Good morning, good morning. Terrible's had a $10,000 winner either Saturday or Sunday on the 1pm Dual Daub game. It had been sitting at 38 numbers for a while (2/9), but a player finally walked out with it. Terrible's acknowledges today as President's Day and is giving away a Patriotic Wall Hanging. Poker Palace is giving away a dauber. Those are the only two places that I am aware of that have a giveaway today.
Biker Boy doesn't play at the Stations so has no opinion about the 5 cashballs. Did hear that Stations will continue with that new program for a year, apparently some kind of a commitment. Another person said it took the edge away that she used to get when she was cased for a hotball. With so many hotballs now, she can't tell if she's cased and misses out on that extra adrenalin rush. Me, I preferred not to know what the hotball was, I liked to be surprised. However, I only hit one in 7 years. I think I'll just continue staying away for awhile :).
"The space shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to undock from the ISS on Monday morning.... The two ships will appear as closely spaced points of light silently gliding in tandem through the twilight sky--an unforgettable sight." Start at Spaceweather.com to find flyby times. Looks like Vegans will have an opportunity around 5:50pm today. Will I remember?
Take care, be good, and be careful. Sue 7:00am
Sunday, February 17 - Good morning, good morning. I thought the Souuth Point's 1pm hotball hit the other day, misheard the agent. That jackpot is at $5,279 this afternoon.
Biker Boy told us he has had 19 hotball hits, five last year. That has to be some kind of a record. But we were wondering if you've played at the Stations with the 5 cashballs every session going on now. What's your opinion? Do you like it? Does it make bingo more interesting?
Rose and I talked yesterday. She saw her surgeon on Friday and he said she was a go as a donor. Passed all her tests with |
